"For long walks lovers"
I am an experienced business traveller to SPb, and I always look for the new places to stay. However, if this is your first visit to SPb and you are not travelling in a group, you might find this hotel to be too far from the main tourists attractions. The hotel is in a quiet residental area, but it is safer to take a taxi if you return to the hotel late in the night. The heating mode of air conditioniner is a bit noisy, but you do not need it as you can adjust the temperature of the heater under the window. The breakfast is expensive - you’d better have it somewhere out (SPb has plenty of options). My room was clean and quiet. The service was of a kind you expect from an international hotel chain.
"Not quite there..."
This was our second time staying at this Marriott property. Service is really great, we were serviced quickly and with a smile (not a typicall experience in Russia) But, there were some flaws: first of all the bed is really used and noisy, TV "system" is old and outdated. Otherwise, this was is good hotel stay in St. Petersburg. Do not pay for a breakfast, it is horrible - old stinky fish, really weird looking omelette and strange bacon. It is not worth of 950RUB when you can eat like a king for that money, just a round the corner.
It is not very much convenient prance to get to the popular city center, but it is quite near Mariinsky opera and ballet theater. Also you could enjoy a walk on Gribedov's channel. And what in my view is extremely important your morning will start with a very positive atmosphere generated by the staff. Many thanks to Ms.Polina and Leonidovich and of course to all others
This is a very good property , good location and very good staff Breakfast is very good but no Indian food available My room was on the 4th Floor , You will not able to find rooms very reality bcz there numbering is really odd Cherry is the room size and the hospitality I really love the stay all the best team
"Good enough inside but but for 2 complaints"
The hotel for my 3-night stay was very good in terms of buffet breakfast food quality. The room was a single-bed one with no balcony and the 2 windows were locked for safety and weather-proofing purposes. The room was well protected from the cold outside and well sound-proofed, though the air-conditioner appeared to be subject to some equaliser control which made me feel too warm one of the three nights. The washroom was compact but very user-friendly in such a small space though there was no bath. The shower room was not the typical style of narrow glass house which is often restrictive and sometimes dangerous. The shower above the bath design with a movable glass panel is even worse in terms of personal safety. The shower room did not have a closable door so that I had plenty of space to move around and did not have to worry about safety when all naked. There was a fixed glass panel separating the shower space from the washbasin and the toilet in the washroom. The part of the shower room with no glass panel was for the guest to walk into and away from the shower where a floor towel should be placed. Water would splash beyond the shower room but that was not bad enough to create any safety or cleansing issue. The room itself was comfy though the TV set was not working at all. My magnetic door card did not have any problem during my stay but I must exercise caution to ensure that I did lock the door properly when going out since there was no major banging sound when closing the door to let me hear or feel that the door was properly locked. There were 2 major complaints which I hope the hotel management could take up responsibly. First, the brown cakes our group were offered for the first-night set dinner were very filling and most of us either failed to eat or finish them off and having finished the cake off I had some stomach problem for the rest of my stay. Second, I bought a small white woolen shawl with colourful pattern and a large deep purple shawl (90% woolen and 10& silk) with colourful pattern for US$137 on the basis of a 50% discount for the small shawl. As I was late by a few minutes as a result of the purchase, I offered to have the saleslady wrap up the 2 shawls and I would pay after grabbing my baggage for checking out. Then I returned to the shop on the ground floor fo the hotel and paid up and collected the 2 shawIs in a rubber bag and left about 10:20 am this Thursday morning. I am now back home and found that I was given the right white shawl but the wrong large deep brown shawl with colourful pattern and both are 100% woolen. What is even more funny is that the price sticker from the paper tag to the deep brown shawl had been torn off. I hope the hotel management can take this up responsibly so that I can arrange an exchange of the wrong deep brown shawl for the right deep purple one soonest. I can approach my travel company to help me do the exchange in this month or early February.
