"Central location "
Pros- Clean Common areas were nice. Easy walk from here to all Waikiki sites. Staff was helpful. Cons- small rooms. Small beds. No storage space for our luggage. Valet fee was high. In hind sight we didn't need a car for our stay. Booked for price. Wont likely do so again.
This was my second visit to Waikiki Courtyard and it was perfect for my needs. The rooms are newly decorated and are quite cheerful. The hotel is convenient to everything -- restaurants, shopping, the beach. The front desk and valet staff could not have been more helpful. I'll be back!
"Waikiki access with a Waikiki price."
My husband and I were staying on Kauai for the majority of our Hawaiian getaway, but decided we wanted include a day of shopping and dining over on Oahu! With our one day/night package, we chose to stay at the Courtyard Waikiki Beach. The property's pictures looked nice, the accessibility to Waikiki's amenities was great, and the price per night seemed reasonable......until it came to us actually checking in. Before we get into some of the areas that weren't all that spectacular about this property, I'd like to begin with the positives. First and foremost, you're on vacation in Hawaii! Life is pretty darn good if these words are coming out of your mouth! Anyway, you'll love the location of this hotel! It's within walking distance of everything Waikiki has to offer. The staff was very friendly and the lobby had a clean and updated look to it! And while we didn't use it, there is a small heated salt water pool (which I thought was very unique). Now, for the more challenging aspects of the property...... while the actual hotel itself is easy to locate, the accessibility to get your car parked to check in is not practical at all. In fact, if you're driving your own car, prepare to take a unique route just to get down the one way street that leads up to the parking area itself. In addition, please note that when you check in, you must leave your car parked in the designated area near valet until you've completed the entire check in process. Once you've received your room key, you will then meet up with the valet staff who will park your vehicle for you. It is important to note that there is no self parking and you must pay the $40 a day to have valet park your vehicle. While we completely understand that space is a premium in Hawaii, we literally had to have our jaws picked up off the floor when they told us what the daily valet fee was. The final fee that we nearly incurred was the Early Check In Fee. Should you wish to check in before 3:00 p.m., they will charge you $25.00. The room itself was fine. It's not really worth a complaint or a praise. However, you should know it gets very "lively" and loud at night in the Waikiki area. Neither my husband or I slept that well due to the sirens, car alarms, slamming doors, and screaming people that seemed to stay active throughout the night. Of course this isn't the actual property's fault, but if you're looking for a quiet getaway to Hawaii, Waikiki is probably not the best choice (as this goes for any hotel in the area). All in all, we love Oahu and the Waikiki experience! However, if we would have stayed at this particular property and had to pay $40 a night for valet for 10 days, we would have croaked. Just know that if you're staying at a resort in Hawaii (any island for that matter), you're more than likely going to pay a parking fee. However, we've never incurred anything this high.
"5 Star Quality...Amazing"
My first trip to Hawaii for a conference and I enjoyed my stay here at the Courtyard Waikiki Beach. Even prior to my trip I called for several different reasons and Tatiana was always available to assist me. Upon my arrival I was greeted kindly. The location was walking distance to basically everything, especially shopping. One night while going out I thought I needed a taxi and the valet guys began to call one for me until I realized I could walk. Oh cant forget I received a beautiful lei necklace from the front desk. The hotel staff are friendly and respectful, The room was comfortable and very well cleaned. Even after I departed the hotel and arrived back home I needed assistance with my invoice (no incorrect charges) Heidy, the GM was able to assist me without a second thought. I am truly grateful for the wonderful service received at Courtyard Waikiki and will definitely return.
"Excellent Location, Great Staff, Average Facilities."
We chose to stay at the Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki based on its proximity to shops, restaurants, public transport without having to pay a premium for hotels closer to the beach. We arrived around 11am and was offered a "Loft room" in one of their adjacent buildings as it was the only one available at the time. The front desk clerk did mention that there were stairs but that the room would be slightly larger than the equivalent rooms in their main tower. What we didn't realise is that there would be 3 flights of stairs! The loft rooms themselves are adequate but very dark during the day and noisy most nights as there was a bar close by on the adjacent street. Given that we intended to spend most of our time outside of the hotel room, we weren't too bothered except for the fact that the hot water took an extremely long time to kick in, making showers frustratingly long or unbearably cold. We didn't want to kick up too much of a fuss initially as we suspected it might be due to over usage, but after 3 nights of very cold showers, we requested a room change. The hotel was apologetic and moved us to a room in the main tower which was much nicer, lighter and with hot water! We found that the concierge was extremely busy and with only one person manning the desk, we spent a lot of time waiting to be served. When we did reach the front of the line however, they provided top notch service. Brent in particular was amazing considering the pressure of a growing line waiting for his services. He very patient, helpful and thorough. Other staff that provided excellent service: Jodi at the front desk who was very accommodating of our room change request, and Kalin at the Valet/Bell Services who was very friendly and helpful too. We would recommend this hotel based on convenience and cost, but would specifically request a room in the main tower on a higher floor facing the pool the next time. (the road is quite busy and noisy, even in the main tower)
