"Excellent hotel , very bad breakfast"
large room and up to standards. Bed is very comfortable but heating system can not be manually controlled, thus hot and dry atmosphere and did not sleep very well. The hotel is well situated and that is a big plus.
"Big THANK YOU to Peter, Katalin, Norbert, Dora and Lajos from Tatjana and Marija from Belgrade, Serbia :)"
We stayed for the weekend in February and had excellent experience in this hotel. Hotel has perfect location, everything is walking distance. We visited all the best locations from there by foot. Room is nice size, bed the best, bathroom good. I really didn't see anything bad. The best thing is the staff. Thumbs up for them. Peter from Front desk was the first person we met, he vas very professional and serious and very nice :) checked us in and after help us with recommendations. Dora and Norbert also had good recommendations and patience for us :) we were extremely boring with maps and questions but they didn't gave up ;) A wanted to mention Lajos (I think, not sure, sorry) I called couple of days before arriving and asked some questions and he was awesome :) Also Katalin from the restaurant is super nice :) wonderful smile and helpful :) she offered us the best pancakes :) we loved it :) One advice for the restaurant manager, pleaseeeeee find some nice uniforms for them, some happy color, the ones that waitresses are wearing are sad with that dark color :( Thank you for everything, for helping us to see the best of Budapest, which is one of the most beautiful cities I have every visited :) If you ever come to Belgrade, let us know, we will be your host :) Tatjana :)
"Great hotel with easy access to the whole city!"
We just returned from a 2-room, 6 night stay at the Courtyard City Center, Budapest and this hotel served as a great base to explore the city. While researching accommodations, I kept coming across the sentiment that it was better to be closer to the Danube, however the prices are much higher in that area. While not in the central area with the tourist sites, it was literally only a few minutes to transport in via Metro to all parts of the city. This also made it a quieter, more authentic (more locals, fewer tourists) neighborhood to call 'home' for the week. The modern hotel lobby is spacious and has a restaurant (which we did not use) and a sundries market. All of the staff that we encountered were friendly and offered helpful advice. The desk employees also called and negotiated a rate for the taxi that we took to the airport. The modern rooms had all of the necessities of home (mini refrigerator, kettle, hair dryer, iron, safe) and plenty of storage to allow you to unpack and enjoy your stay. The bathroom had lots of counter space for essentials and a large walk-in shower. As a Marriott Rewards member, the entire stay was booked through points. (For those also looking to redeem Marriott Rewards for maximum benefit-- this is a fabulous choice requiring far fewer than the other Marriott properties in town, yet literally only a few minutes away from all points of the city via the Blaha Lujza tér metro adjacent to the hotel. One day, and multi-day transport passes are very reasonable) My requests for a high floor and quiet area were granted, and we were fortunate to be upgraded to rooms with huge balconies. A highly recommended hotel in Budapest for large rooms, friendly and helpful staff, and a fantastic location to anywhere in the city you might want to go! Will definitely return on a future visit to Budapest!
"Very average hotel"
We stayed here last weekend after loving the marriott in cancun last year. This is a different kettle of fish..the room was decent size but was baking hot. The AC was disabled as it's linked to outside temperatures regardless of how hot you feel inside. We asked staff to help to which they said they can open the window wider -this solved nothing as there was no breeze! There is no complimentary wifi, the TV kept freezing so not much to watch either. Service from staff was ok nothing to write home about. I would advise staying elsewhere, the only thing going for this hotel was the location.
The hotel is modern, clean and well maintained. The location is great, with metro and tram stops literally outside the door. We also walked from hotel to the river and all the major sites a couple times. Plenty of restaurant and bars nearby. The staff were terrific. Very friendly and helpful at all times. The morning breakfast buffet was tremendous. Fruits, sweets, Hungarian sliced meats and cheeses as expected. But they also have a full hot breakfast with fried eggs or eggs made to order, bacon, sausage potatoes. It was all very very good. There is no question we will stay here when we go back to Budapest.
