"Well situated "
The hotel is well situated for shopping and restaurants. The room was large and clean and the bed was really comfortable. Great sized bathroom. The staff were lovely. No issues with noise and there's a lot of redevelopment so some building work to be expected in the centre.
"Quick overnight stop"
Pretty average place, looking tired in places but ok for overnight stop. Good brekkie choice. Staff nice and helpful. More of business hotel than anything else. Everything you would expect in a budget hotel but with breakfast, so maybe too pricey'
"Enjoyable Weekend Stay"
Lovely room, nice bathroom and nice to have separate bath and shower, with sleep pillow spray and mouthwash, enjoyed the Club Lounge, a little bit cramped though at breakfast but good selection and staff lovely. Nice to have plug sockets beside the bed, the bed was lovely comfy but TV reception horrendous and so was the WIFI. We did have problems finding our way to the hotel due to all the roadworks, building works in the vicinity and even the taxi driver complained about the road problems. Good situation as we wanted to go shopping etc and all in walking distance. Overall it was a good experience and would recommend hotel and will definitely stay there again.
"Very tired and very noisy."
This hotel was really run down for a Crowne Plaza. To begin it is sat in the middle of a huge redevelopment / building site and for that reason is noisy. I asked for a quiet room on arrival and was given the room closest to the new tower block being built next door! The hotel was clean but everything within the building looked and felt tired. My room was a good size with two double beds but the air conditioning was extremely load and kept me awake once building work had stoped outside. I reported this to reception and felt I was merely an annoyance to the staff who couldn't even be bothered to apologise. I usually stay in a Crowne Plaza at least once a week and this hotel was far more expensive than others for no good reason. I will not return here.
Centrally located about a five minute walk from New Street station and another five minute walk to the canal area/entertainment. There is a fairly steep incline up to the main entrance. Staff were welcoming and friendly and the breakfast the following morning was very good. The only downside was a drunken guest screaming to be let into her room at 0300 waking the entire floor I would guess.
