"i'd be ok with staying her again"
We stayed here 9 nights and very much enjoyed the stay . My husband has to attend a big trade show at McCormick Place every 2 years and he'd prefer to be close to that, so he could walk from the room. But all the hotels were booked in the area .. his company got everyone in this hotel and it worked out well for me. I loved this location and it worked great for me. It was right on the west edge of the city in an area known as Greektown, so there are alot of Greek restaurants and Greek folks which was fun. It was quieter than being in the heart of the city. This was a great area .. 2 large markets right across the street and several restaurants in easy walkable distance. I felt safe to walk around even at night which was great, since I was a woman by myself. As always the higher rooms are quieter and offer better view. Ask for higher room with view of the city ... We were in room 823 and if we looked the right direction had a view of the Willis Tower. Staff was helpful and friendly. Valet parking is mandatory and the usual daily fee for car. The bar/ restaurant on site is nothing special but there if you need it. You have to request a the small fridge and/or microwave and not sure if there's a fee .. we did the fridge ..it didn't have a freezer area. You need your room key to access the elevator so keep it handy though .. as long as someone else gets in they can hit the button for you. This is not a newer property and the carpet was pretty old .. but the bed was amazingly comfortable and we slept well every night which is the most important thing. It was pretty quiet though in the bathroom you can hear sounds from another room .. the bedroom was very quiet and the shower was great. The shower had good water pressure got hot fast and the water was soft. Hotels usually don't get cool enough for my hot flashes but this one is the exception. I cann't sleep unless the room is cold this place can get as cold as you want it. ... I got cold for the first time in 2 years. We did take our own pillows since we were driving and staying so long. There are bus stops very close to the hotel which I used every day. Tv channels were limited but not a big issue for us .. the intnet was slow and spotty but the hotel was full of engineers and geeky guys so that might not always be the case. All and all I've stayed right in the Mag Mile and that was good to but I also really liked this location and hotel. I would be perfectly happy if his company puts us here again in 2 years. Since everything in the whole town was booked up they didn't offer any discount but usually you can get a better price.
"Excellent hotel but a little far from the downtown/loop attractions."
Large rooms with big closets and little balconies. Sterile looking lobby. Nice bar and restaurant. Book a room rate that includes the expansive and excellent breakfast buffet. Service was fine. It's right next to the interstate and traffic noise was a problem at all hours. Pretty far walk or short bus ride to get into the main downtown area. No interesting shops or restaurants nearby. My group was mostly 70s women so younger people might be OK with the walking distance to downtown. A good value as closer in hotels were much more expensive.
"Not great as a Business hotel"
Well located this hotel has decent sized rooms, comfortable beds and very friendly staff. I stayed here for business. However that is where it stops. Given my frequent travel I would say a good business hotel needs clean rooms, comfortable beds, good wifi, noiseless rooms, powerful shower and a good choice in room service. Honestly not very hard to crack. The wifi just did not work as reception was poor, the air on is noisy, the shower lacks any force and the room service choice is limited. It is time to make America global. Large portions are no substitute for good food. The staff is great though or else I would have rated them even lower.
The location is great! Walking distance to Downtown, bunch of restaurants in the area. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff is nice and friendly. I think the price for the rooms is way too high for 3.5 star hotel ($350/night). I would recommend this hotel to travelers but it won't be cheap!
"Comfort in The Loop"
My husband I stayed here over Labor Day weekend and enjoyed a mostly quiet and comfortable stay. We were in a renovated room which was nice, but our view was to the rooftop of a building next door. During the weekend they had an issue with their fire alarms repeatedly going off for hours which was quite inconvenient. For a quick trip, I would choose this hotel again for the great location. Many of the best bars and nightlife are within walking distance and lots of the other attractions are a short uber ride away.
