I did not know what to expect but was delighted when I walked into the hotel and the amazing front desk staff of Beth, Simeon and Amanda greeted me with a smile. It had been a long day of travel, but they put me at ease and made me feel at home, immediately. I will stay here again, every time I am in Chicago. Thanks! Bob from Maryland
"Fantastic service fantastic hotel!"
From the moment I walked in the door, I was met with warm smiles from Simeon Cunningham and Beth Scott. It was very late and Simeon could tell I had a long day and helped speed up my check-in when my 3rd party reservation had not yet come through- Made the extra effort that meant alot! Great rooms too- newly nenovated- Trolley pick-up drop off to Bulls and Blackhawk games-Free
My daughter and I spent this past weekend (March 17, 2017 through March 20, 2017) at the Crown Plaza in the West Loop near Greek Town. Samuel in Reservations got us taken care of with our suite, mini fridge, etc. The staff (Simeon in particular) were always cheerful and ready to take care of us. Housekeeping made sure we had what we needed. The bed was super comfortable. The suite was clean and airy. What we enjoyed about the Crowne Plaza was that we were off the "touristy route" yet close to so much. We walked to the Chicago Museum of Art, took the blue line to the South Loop, picked up snacks at the Marianos across the street, walked along Greek Town, and yet never had to feel the "hustle and bustle" of the usual tourist spots. Breakfasts in the dining room were plentiful and tasty. It was definitely an enjoyable time. There is some construction going on next door with some high rises going up and parking being added. We still had a nice view of the city and you can certainly request a room that faces more east and a bit away from the construction going on near the entrance. Upon checking out our bellman Allen was so pleasant and courteous and got us loaded up into our Lyft... Thank you again Crown Plaza for a wonderful weekend!!!
We stayed here 9 nights and very much enjoyed the stay. My husband had to come here for a trade show and all the hotel near McCormick place were booked so his company put everyone here. The hotel is west of the city in Greektown area of Chicago and I really liked it .. lots of Greek restaurants and Greek people .. best Gyro's ever!! 2 nice markets across the street and several restaurants in easy walk. Felt safe even at night to walk alone which worked out well. Cost was similar to others and must Valet park .. plus usual high daily car fee. within sight of bus stops. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Even though it's not a newer hotel the bed was surprisingly comfortable .. room quiet .. request upper floor and may want to ask for view of the city. Shower had good water pressure, soft water, and got hot fast. most hotels don't get cool enough for my hot flashes .. this did .. first time I was cold in 2 years. .. loved that ... as I can't sleep if the room is over 65 degrees. I have stayed several places in Chicago and this was also good .. Great stay would be ok if his company booked this again .. and they likely will. The internet was slow but the hotel was full of engineers and geeky guys from the trade show .. so that might not always be the case. The tv channels were very limited but that wasn't a problem.
The rooms were beautiful, we even had a balcony with a great view of the city. Large bathroom and room. The entire hotel was great! Front desk staff was a little rude when I couldn't find the conformation email ( I had booked this hotel on the fly on my phone).
