"Nice for a one-night stay after a cruise "
We won this hotel on Priceline and we're pleased with the cleanliness and decor of room, but it was a little too far away from grocery stores, restaurants, and we had to Uber and cab to Las Olas. The employees were very nice. After arriving at noon, we were informed that they would call us on our cell when the room was ready. We received a call after 35 minutes after being told it might be an hour or so, so we appreciated being able to get into our room before the check-in time of 3:00 pm The lobby was full of cruisers when we arrived, so there wasn't one place to sit to wait for our room. We were directed to the 5th floor, yet there were only two chairs and a bench and one of the chairs was occupied. There is a little restaurant on site and a little store. We took their free shuttle back to the airport and even though there is a schedule of hourly shuttles 20 minutes past the hour, we checked out at 7:40 and there was a shuttle driver who took us to the airport. He was so nice and friendly, Owen. The one thing we didn't care for was there are no in-room safes. Other than that, it was a nice place! I rate it a solid 3.5 stars.
"Good for stop over"
After our hotel shuttle drove past us all at the airport, we were not hopeful of a good visit! I suggest not using the shuttle, particularly if it is a late evening flight. The staff at the hotel gave a warm welcome, when we did get there. The rooms were spacious, well furnished and beds comfortable. I have stayed in cleaner hotels but this was not the worst. The outdoor pool was warm and quiet during the evening. The restaurant was expensive for snacks so we bought microwavable snacks from their shop. We were warned by staff not to leave the hotel after dark as it is an unsafe area - the locals were incensed to hear this....we caught a bus from town and, although there was a mixed bunch of passengers, they were all friendly and helpful. We felt safe walking around, although we were back at the hotel by 11.00pm. The hotel is ideal for an airport stopover but not for enjoying Fort Lauderdale or Miami.
"Way Way Overpriced"
Nice ordinary sort of place, not worth the price. The attached restaurant bar was about the same. We stayed there because it was the hotel our cruise recommended. The front desk was not quite up to the job, many of us waited for hours to get to our rooms. I highly recommend that you go elsewhere.
