"Service at hotel and to airport."
We were there in Nov. 2016 for one night and the personnel were great. The room was good and the bed was great. The food was very good in the hotel. The shuttle driver George Johnson took care of us getting on and off the shuttle. The transition from shuttle and check-in was good. Thank you George. I just found my card thats why the review is late.
"How Could You Let This Happen'"
Where do I start' The hotel is very nice and clean. It's really clean. My check in process went very well. The staff that initially checked me in very friendly. The staff after that downhill. The very next day after I went to work. I arrived at my room door. I put my key on the door to open it doesn't work. No problem I'll go down stairs to reset my keys. I was asked so many questions. About my room I became angry in my head. Long story short. An employee checked someone into MY ROOM WITH MY BELONGINGS STILL IN THE ROOM. No initial apology from anyone. I was told by Sue it was my companies fault for booking the room one night. How dare you be so rude' She did not look into the situation. She place the blame on my company. I was given a new room a breakfast voucher. Along with drink vouchers which was only valid if I had dinner at the hotel. I pretty sure many will read this and say. Well problem solved right' HELL NO!!!! They did the same thing to my coworker while she was in her underwear. Her room was given away as well to another customer. Is this really the type of business that the Crowne Plaza operates under' Word to the wise if you want a clean hotel. Yes stay here. If you want your whatnots exposed and you will. Don't stay here.
"East to find"
We hadn't been to Ft. Lauderdale in several years and needed a location near the convention center and this hotel appeared to be within easy walking distance. However, the port facility does not allow access to the convention center--still it's walkable, The garage manager advised us to drive or take a cab--he was correct--the walk was easy, but the 85 degree weather and high humidity made for a miserable walk. The hotel is a clean and well maintained highrise. The rooms are comfortable and came with a mini-frig & a microwave--something we did not expect. The self parking was reasonable at $10 per day and parking was abundant with handicapped spaces near the elevator. The pool and workout facilities were very good, as well.
"Nice and friendly"
Only stayed 1 night, but nice hotel and friendly staff. Room was clean and good beds. Hotel got parking. We arrived late and it was not possible to buy any food og something to drink and mini bar was empty, that was a minus. Breakfast was normal and fine and staff very helpfull and friendly.
"Very good, could be excellent"
We booked this hotel as an overnight before a cruise as the hotel is very close to the cruise piers. We landed at an impossibly inconvenient time (6am) and when we for to the hotel realized it would be at least 7 hours until our room would be ready. (Haven't flown red-eye before and likely will not again). The staff stored our bags, were very kind, but it was early on a Sunday and not much to do.... They made clear the maid service crew started at 8 and they had been full the night before. We went to breakfast, sat by the pool, dawdled, etc.... All while trying to be patient. I inquired about paying extra for early check in... They told me there wasn't such a thing.... Yet I watched at least 30 families/couples check out during the time we sat about (definitely after the 8 am maid start time, but well before the 11 am check out requirement) So rooms were being vacated at quite the 'brisk' pace... It seems to me that there could be/should be a way to get early check ins rooms early (a potential revenue stream'), so everyone gets something of value to them. The room was very good, the bed great. The pool, on the 4th floor, was OK as was the exercise room. The restaurant had lots of traffic, but we did not try it. The hotel orchestrates shuttles to the cruise piers.... We did that the following day.... Simple and fast... And not too costly...
