"A very good hotel for business trip"
Located at a prime location, this hotel offers big spacious rooms, good services, multi-cuisine restaurant. Room were spacious, clean, hygienic. View from room was good. You can see famous Jakarta traffic on roads. Thankfully you don't hear any noise. An Indian cuisine restaurant was a few steps away from my room. There is a mall close-by to buy essential items. My client's office was a 500m away from this hotel. No problems with Wifi :-) and value for money.
"Old hotel in city business center"
Good service overall. Check in and check out was done quickly. Hotel is quite old but still at good condition. I had dinner at Beranda Restaurant. Service is quite slow. Need to wait for 30 mins to get my dinner. Quality of food is good worth waiting. Location is near the city highway, very convenient to move in and out of Jakarta city. There is a shopping mall just next to the hotel walking distance.
Very nice location to access expressway. However, due to recent car traffic regulation (Odd-Even License plate traffic Rule), you need to be careful that it will be impossible to get off the expressway to Thamrin Rd. every other day. Short cut way to Plaza Semanggi is not exist because new buildings behind this hotel are under construction now. Facility is getting old but no problems. Hotel Staff are always nice and professional.
"Weekend in Jakarta"
Once a jewel of Jakarta, the crème de la crème of luxury in hospitality, Crowne Plaza Jakarta has been serving guests for almost 21 years now, does it live up to the reputation until now' You’ll about to find out.. Check in Seamless as I have made the booking 2 weeks prior arrival. The receptionist was welcoming with a warm attitude. The lobby is an elaborate high marble staircase which evokes the sense of luxury. The check in only took about 15 minutes. I have requested for early check in at 11am though their standard check in at 3pm. Luckily, they do have room available at 11am. They served me with welcome drink while waiting for the room to be ready. Room Spacious. The fully marble bathroom is clean and roomy with basic toiletries. As Im a IHG member, my room was upgraded to Grand deluxe overlooking Jakarta’s view which is fantastic. I was in the 9th level room. The room seems to be dated, however it is well maintained. I have some issues with the hot shower since it took time to be heated. The Wi-Fi was rather averagely weak since it can’t be detected at times. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast Above average. It was a moderate selection of local cuisines and cakes. The staffs at the café were accommodating. I had a chat with one of them which was a very pleasant one. They had noodle station, waffle station and omelet station. I would say that they did a wonderful job with the breakfast buffet. Gym They do have gym facility, however I don’t have much time to check it out. In short, the hotel has its own charm. The quality of service is good. However, the hotel itself need some upgrade. The staffs were very accommodating and helpful. If you are staying over the weekend don’t forget to join CFD (car free day) just about 10 minutes by foot to Jalan Surdirman- Thambrin) .The hotel is near to Balai Sarbini/Plaza Semaggi (5 minutes by foot). Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Highly recommended for business and leisure.
"Far from great, barely OK"
Good: Friendly staff. Not good: Old hotel. Nothing much beyond a room, a bed, a toilet and a desk. Nothing to rave about. Passable shower pressure but again ... not greatest Bad: Hallways a little spooky. Carpets in bad need of change. Note that IHG Ambassador status gets you nothing. No early check in, no late check out, no fruit, not upgrade. Staff had many opportunities to go beyond the extra mile but sadly failed. About the spooky hallways ... not sure if anything can be done. Have stayed in similar hotels in Tokyo with long hallways to the rooms ... and they use bright lights and sounds of tweeting birds to dispel the gloom. A much more cheerful walk to the elevator than Crowne Plaza's hallways ... which sometimes resembled a scene from "The Ring". Nice that the hotel was next to a mall. Not that nice that the mall wasn't great for Retail Therapy. Some eateries on the 5th floor but otherwise ho hum. Crowne Plaza is physically close to another mall: Pacific Place mall ... perhaps a 25 minute walk with GoogleMaps ... and almost as long by Cab because of the long u-Turn it needed to take. Internet speeds adequate. Can fetch mail ... but they're likely doing some rate limiting of traffic types as YouTube took some time to load.
