My husband and myself were at Crowne Plaza in October 2016 for a 2week honeymoon. A stunning hotel and staff were all fantastic. Our room had a view of down the town and could see the fireworks from Disney any night we were in our room at 10.00pm. Breakfast each morning was either a menu or buffet which were both nice. Although, I Had a bit of a wait one day for my pancakes and was disappointed to see they were not American style. They were crepe which I didn't expect especially when menu said American style. Anyway didn't let it put me off having a buffet breakfast. Taxi people out of the front of the hotel were always helpful and willing to collect us from anywhere we were dropped off at either by giving us a time or their phone number. The people in the lobby who arrange days out were always friendly and talkative. They always provided their honest opinion and asked us for our opinion on attractions following our return.
Family trip to do the parks. Nice, clean hotel and check in staff very friendly and helpful. Location easy to reach most parks via the I4 if you have a car. Stayed in executive rooms which were very large and spacious. Meals in the hotel were good except second night server was bordering on rude and didn't even offer a dessert before bringing the check, consequentially didn't eat there again. Disappointed that as a Spire member the Executive lounge charges for Wine/Beer - however the staff hosts in the room seemed confused over the rules regarding this as it appears they had been changed recently. USB charging sockets in the rooms would be useful with today's technology. All in all an enjoyable stay even given the above.
"Very good hotel near International Drive with good price"
I've stayed at this hotel before as I'm a member of a board that meets there every year...it's always a quick trip for me so it's just one night there...I never leave the property once I get there...I arrived at 10 pm and left the next day at noon... The location is very near International Drive which is the entertainment district between downtown Orlando and Universal/Disney/Sea World area...this hotel is close to Universal and Sea World with Disney being a 15 minute drive away... The check-in process is simple and pleasant...they do have a bell service and a concierge that will park your can if you so desire... I was upgraded this time to the Concierge floor...the rooms are the same, I believe, but of course, you have access to the Concierge Lounge... The room was very nice...the a/c worked very well and I immediately lowered the temp to 65 degrees and it worked well...outside the window was a beautiful view of the entertainment section of I-Drive and it was quite colorful... The bathroom was standard size, but interestingly there was a magnifying mirror in the bathroom which is usually in more expensive hotels...the water pressure was exceptional and the water temp was easy to adjust... The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of pillows...the work area was good size and thankfully there were plenty of plug-in's both on the work desk and on BOTH sides of the bed on the night stands... The room was quiet and comfortable... I used the Concierge Lounge for breakfast the next morning and it was pleasant and though I was a little late getting there, it wasn't crowded...the food was good and there was a diverse spread of food - hot and cold...there was fruit, bagels/bread/pastries, cereal, yogurt, etc...there was orange juice and coffee...and there was even an ice bucket for those like me who like to have a cold drink of juice... I had requested a newspaper when I checked in, but It was never delivered...and by the time I was in the lounge the next morning all of the newspapers were already gone...nevertheless, the trip to the lounge was quick, easy and gave me a full stomach... This hotel is a good place for business meetings and there are plenty of families that stay there as well...and airline flight crews have been there both times I've stayed at this hotel, which is always a good sign...
"Looks like a remodel is going on' Great location"
I was here for business and for only 1 night. This hotel is easy walking distance to International drive (I-drive) which has all kind of restaurants and one of the coolest mini golf locations Ive seen, I forget the name, Pirates Cove I think' Its also super close to the Eye of Orlando which is the twin to the Eye of London. They are owned and managed my the same company. Universal Studios is close by and I think the hotel may have a shuttle that can get you there. When I got to the hotel check in was a breeze and I was starving. I ate at the bar and even though it was still "lunch hours" they make me a great NY strip steak with grilled asparagus, they have a a Gluten Free menu and I identified myself as celiac. I ate with no problem. Hit the spot. When I went to my room. Was clean, but as other reviews mentioned a bit dated. Pastels and floral carpet etc. I think they are going through a remodel because everything but the rooms seems to be updated to a really nice modern look. Lobby, Restaurant, outdoor pool area, meeting rooms, etc are all good. I didn't ask and I didn't mind as I was only there for a night. Room was a non-smoking room and smelled great and the bed was really good. Free wifi was Strong as I did a streaming live webinar out by the pool, that was nice. connected all my devices with no problems. Good, because t-mobile seemed a bit iffy in the hotel and in the area in general. The next morning they had a breakfast buffet out that was good as I was in a hurry. scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes fruit and pastries (which I did not eat). There are tons of hotel options in the area, if I find myself in the area again I would consider them and have no problem staying here.
Stayed here for Star Wars Celebration. Booked months ahead, asked for a high floor, close to elevator and a late check in. Arrived around 8 PM, no problems at all. We checked in quickly, room was on 11th floor, right next to elevators. Nice room, great view, pool was perfect, food was great. No complaints at all. Would stay again.
