"Stayed Twice - info on Wi-Fi, Shuttle service, & Breakfast Buffet"
Stayed here twice while in transit - going to and then returning. Hotel is clean, well maintained, and convenient for airport transfer. They offer a free airport shuttle, which can be caught outside arrivals at terminal 2 & 3 (not sure about 1, but probably there as well). They have lots of shuttles, usually one sitting at each terminal that runs every 30 mins and leaves on the hour and half hour mark. Hotel says you need to reserve shuttle in advance, but it wasn't busy so we didn't bother and were fine. Other note is hotel wifi, other reviews say it was useless, but I found it to be quite reliable and far better than I expected. No problem surfing internet, checking emails, etc. website says they offer free wi-fi, and on our first visit there was a message that popped up saying it was 120 rmb ($25 approx.) for 24 hours, but if you join their rewards program it's free. We checked out and weren't charged without joining. On our return visit the check in lady attempted to sell us an upgrade of sorts that included dinner and free wi-fi and informed us otherwise wi-fi would be the price quoted above. We declined and joined the rewards club instead for free, gave her the account number and she added it to our room. I would recommend joining before arrival on their website. Breakfast buffet was pretty good with lots of variety. As others recommended it is cheaper to pre-pay and book it with your reservation. It's nice to wake up and not have to search for food. Overall nice hotel and would stay again.
"Convenient location for layover "
We had a 24 hour layover in Beijing and decided to stayed at the crowne plaza for one night. Nice amenities, clean rooms, decent restaurant. We appreciated that there was a free shuttle service to the airport that leaves every thirty minutes.
"Beijing overnight stop"
The proximity of this hotel to Beijing Capital Int, Airport makes it excellent for a overnight stay when en route from Sydney to Mongolia. Bright welcoming lobby....friendly staff....very clean and comfortable room and prompt pick up from Airport and back again the next morning. Very large group of high school orchestra members staying so seating at breakfast little crowded. Breakfast quality looked very good although I only ate fruit.
We visited China for a few weeks and this hotel was out last stay before flying back to USA. It is conveniently located and the fact that there is a free airport shuttle is great. The drivers are not particularly friendly or help you with your luggage but I guess they get the job done. I was a little nervous after reading reviews regarding the difficulty in locating the shuttle stop so I emailed the hotel. Unfortunately nobody ever responded. Luckily we didn't have trouble finding the shuttles. The lobby personnel was great. We even got a room upgrade due to my elite status. I also received my usual welcoming drink certificate which unfortunately this time wasn't honored because it was collected by one person who left and when it was time to settle the bill the girl at the counter who didn't speak English well said "No" and turned her back to me and walked away as I was trying to explain the situation. I did find it extremely rude but didn't argue. It was late and probably pointless. I understand that it is a foreign country and maybe the management can train the staff a little better. It there is ever a situation when communication can be a problem perhaps the staff member can get somebody a little more competent to handle the situation. The room is very nice and clean. Don't expect to do any work here because the internet is very slow. Perhaps the worst from all my hotel stays while in China. It is walking distance to a couple restaurant if you're not a fan of hotel restaurants. At check out the girl only looked up after she realized that I wasn't answering to whatever she was saying because I don't speak Chinese. However she was quick so we can catch the shuttle. Some of the staff members need a little more training to catch up to the IHG standards but I will probably use the hotel again.
I was only there for a day and a night, but wasn`t as impressed as I thought I should be in a Crowne Plaza. The rooms were comfortable, as was the bed and the shower was powerful and hot. The internet was very poor and kept dropping out making a Skype call was difficult. The television remote control didn`t work properly (I didn`t complain as I was there for only a short time and couldn`t be bothered). Mini bar was poorly stocked too. The hotel is clean and tidy and the staff are friendly and helpful. There`s a good steak and beer to be had at the "Swan with Two Necks" pub, which is a ten minute walk away from the hotel.
