"Hotel of choice in Leeds"
I have now stayed here three times with work and will hopefully be staying again in the future. The rooms are always nice and clean, the beds are comfortable, the facilities in the room are plentiful. As well as the rooms, there is a gym that is always busy but never too busy, a pool, sauna/steam room and a lovely restaurant. Its well worth the corporate rate we get to stay here. If there is one thing I would think that would improve things it would be that the rooms need a little updating, but hey that is just a very minor thing to me.
Stayed here overnight last night for a birthday treat with family and had a good time. Rooms were clean, reception and bar staff were friendly and always helpful. Dinner was lovely and come out quickly. Breakfast had a wide variety of foods. I don't usually sleep well in hotels but it's the best sleep I've had in ages. Beds were really comfy. I'll definitely stay here again when I come back to Leeds. Can't fault anything! Great overnight stay.
"Second Room lucky... First room dirty..."
I stayed here for 3 nights as I was visiting Leeds for work. Upon checking in I found the car park spacious and the reception staff incredibly friendly. The problems arose however when I went to my room. On first glance the room looked clean, slightly dated but spacious. However on a close look I saw that there was a plastic bag over the fire alarm where a previous guest had smoked in the room, a faint smell of smoke which hit you upon walking in, broken heating, curly hairs in the bath and long black hairs on the bed and on later that evening when I placed the reading light on there was a thick line of dust at the back of both bedside tables and the back of the desk. That's not to mention the bath robe in the wardrobe which had brown fleck stains of a previous occupants dinner up the arm... Or at least that's what I hoped it was. The following morning after complaining to reception I was switched rooms to a much nicer and cleaner one. The staff dealt with my complaint professionally and we're very accomodating. I cannot fault the staff here- they really are top notch and the breakfast was lovely with lots of choice. I was just disappointed about the cleanliness of the room and expected better for the money charged.
"Not what the Crowne Plaza built its name on but ok"
I've stayed in this hotel a few times. What I've noticed over the past 10 years is how generic hotels have become and this is one of them. You can predict rubbery eggs, over cooked black pudding, flavourless mushrooms and so on. There is a breakfast menu but not one member of staff has pointed this out - it's just because I have stayed in a lot of hotels that I looked for it in preference to the buffet. Service is variable; two guys who worked together a few mornings were good but another pair of younger lads were sadly lacking. Either way, for such a quiet time there's no excuse for less than excellent service. The evening meals are ok - I had one excellent chicken with pearl barley dish but it's mostly uninspiring. In the room I had two electrical issues. One was with the heater which left me freezing for 2 nights and wasn't fixed when I worked out precisely (I could order the part if I was so inclined) what it was. Eventually I got a plug in heater. Besides that I noticed my kettle's PAT test was 6 months out of date so I prey this place doesn't become a fire ball at some point. The reception staff are friendly and helpful as were the evening and bar staff but the 'real-estate' needs to match up and I can get a better breakfast or evening meal for a half to a third of the price by walking 200 or 300 yards. Not the best £600 my company has spent! Pro's: parking (difficult in Leeds), good location (for work and food) Cons: electrical nightmare, average and incredibly overpriced food and no desire to go the extra 12 inches, let alone the extra mile.
"Sparkling festive afternoon tea"
A treat over Xmas using living social voucher, actual price £46(wow), we paid £23 for two! I think really £23 is fair👍 Nice hotel, usual high standards for this group of hotels. We caught train as we were drinking so not sure if parking is reasonable. ..Outside did not do the well deserved 4⭐interior justice' Very well presented, spotlessly clean and good ambience. We were directed to second floor restaurant where we were greeted and seated by pleasant polite young lady. She promptly brought our glasses of chilled prosecco. Which was very shortly followed by fresh sandwiches, cakes, warmed scones, clotted cream etc. All was tasty, fresh and tea was hot. However, we weren't over impressed! Adequate, but not worth the full price. Restaurant was clean, warm, comfy seats and TVs on walls on quite. Staff courteous, polite and effectively seeing to our overall enjoyment 4⭐. We would certainly return and overly recommend to others. We loved it! Considering, even staying overnight in 2017. Thanks to all👏
