Expensive. Attached restaurant terrible. Wi-Fi awful. Room nice enough. TV didn't work. I stayed two nights, paid for by work - had I been paying myself, this would probably be a lower-rated review. As it is, I'll be requesting somewhere else next time I'm in town.
"Spa break with a friend "
Really enjoyed our stay here, not too far out of London and the Royal Victoria station is right behind the hotel. The hotel is lovely, very modern, great bar and restaurant, breakfast had a huge choice and was delicious. The bedroom had great facilities tea and coffee, fridge, hairdryer, iron etc the beds were super comfy, had great pillows and duvet and the tv was huge we were very impressed. The Quad club spa is lovely we used it twice, there is a good size pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna and a beauty salon. Would definitely return here, excellent stay.
Stopped here for 3 nights whilst partaking in a show at the excel. What you'd expect really, nothing special. There were gym & swimming facilities but I didn't use these. The restaurant was good. Plenty of choice for breakfast & the place was very clean & tidy. There was some confusion over the payment of my room & payment of 'extras' although I didn't have any. But they got there in the end! All in all it was a clean, fresh & pleasant stay.
"Good value and nice location"
I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. It is located only minutes from London's City Airport. This was the only downside to the stay. The takeoff pattern is directly over the hotel but thankfully the air traffic dies down at night and ends by 10pm or so. It does start up by 6am, though. This wasn't an issue for me as the times coincide with my sleep patterns. I wouldn't recommend for families with children who are still taking naps. The hotel is very clean and tidy. Bathrooms are roomy for European standards and towels and washcloths are very nice. My room had a king size bed and sitting area. Workspace was a little tight but if you don't need to spread out too many documents you can manage well to get work done. Television was large and new. Many local and US stations offered. I like to keep up with the news so CNN and BBC are available. Only 2 bottles of drinking water (still and carbonated) per day, I imagine you can get more. There is a Tesco Express store to the west of the hotel, one minute away. I bought plenty of water and snacks. The AC was a bit difficult to manage. There was no "off" switch and the air was constantly on. I could control the heat/cold, but not turn off the fan. I enjoy fresh air and opened the windows while there. Breakfast was pricey. 19£ for the traditional English breakfast was high. If you buy the breakfast slip in advance (the day before) the price is 11£. That is much better. Eggs, omelets, fresh fruit, bacon, sausage and several juices to choose from. Also cereals and breads were plentiful. The staff in the hotel including front desk, restaurant and bell were awesome. Samantha greets everyone at breakfast and her happiness and good mood is contagious. There is a bar for those interested with full liquors and draft or bottles beers. Also near to the hotel are several very nice restaurants. Lebanese, Indian, Italian and Chinese. Zero Sette was the Italian restaurant. Very authentic and I are there two nights in a row. Also ate at the Lebanese and Indian places and lived them. At the Lebanese you must save room for the Baclava dessert. Awesome. I was very happy with my stay and felt the money paid was an excellent value. If you see my other posts from around the world, you will see that I rarely award 5 stars. This place earned my praise.
