We stayed at the Crowne Plaza for a few days due to a business trip. The hotel accommodates an indoor swimming pool, spa and gym and there are several decent restaurants/supermarkets dotted along the walk way for a quick bite. The DLR/Canning tube station is also within walking distance to get into the city if required. The hotel have an on-site car park at the cost of £18 per day and we didn't struggle to locate a space at peak times. The friendly approach staff demonstrated consistently is outstanding, namely Samantha and her team at breakfast and we would definitely stay here again in the future if required.
"Convenient for O2 areba"
1 night stay on a Saturday. Check-in very straight forward, both rooms clean, spacious and very comfortable. We took the cable car over to the O2 arena as recommended by the reception team, great views and a unique way to get around! We had breakfast included in our room rate (booked through booking.com) and were welcomed by the smiling Samantha, a credit to the hotel! We would stay here again!
"Not a great reflection of this place "
Came in this afternoon for a meal before moving on to the hotel. Ordered the Mezze which they say is for 4 people. It isn't. There was guacamole (ok), peppers (ok), salsa (very good) and flatbread. There were 4 small pieces of chicken (around the size of a £2 coin), 4 similarly sized pieces of steak, 4 small slices of pork belly and only 3 mini chorizo - so definitely not for 4. There was only 2 of us and we could have eaten more. Also we asked for Cocktails but they couldn't do them as they had run out of crushed ice' Not good at all. Service was ok I guess but could have been much better - just a personal opinion but it doesn't look good when the staff are talking in Romanian or Czech or whatever it was and gesturing towards the guests, making it clearly obvious that they're talking about them and/or us too, which us feel very uncomfortable at times. Much improvement required, I would definitely give this place a miss.
The location suited me as this is tucked away in a quiet corner of london. Also has a pool and spa. On arrival the staff made it clear that as I had booked via booking.com not to expect any perks or room upgrades as this would only be possible with a direct booking which is fine. The pool area was dated but at least clean. The amount of chemicals used in the jacuzzi was burning my eyes, so be warned! I decided to order some room service only to be told that this was unavailable and that I had to use external services. The staff member on the phone was rude and offered nothing in the form of an explanation or apology. The breaskfast was equally poor. That morning whilst checking out I raised these issues with the front desk and they had no knowledge of there being no room service available the night before and offered no form of customer care. I'd suggest to anyone spending money on a hotel to stay in london, there are much better places.
"Clean & comfortable "
I recently stayed here while visiting the excel for a business trip. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful on check on. The room was contemporary, spacious with a comfy bed. The location of the hotel is great as there are bars and restaurants close by, parking and close to the excel. Can highly recommend.
