Having been to a lot of hotels and a lot of other Crowne Plaza branches this is one of the better ones. Room was nice and very quiet which was a pleasant surprise. Club lounge was excellent. Much better furnished than some and their breakfast selection was better than usual. First stay here and we will be back in the future.
"Small room in great location"
The Standard room is very small and as we stayed during four nights it got a bit claustrophobic. The good thing about the room was that it was very quiet and you could sleep well in a nice bed with good pillows. The bad thing was that there was no place to hang all the clothes and not even one drawer just some place where they had the hair dryer and stuff. I had to keep part of my clothes in the cabin bag. A nice touch was they left a chocolate and a biscuit every day. The toiletries were good quality and breakfast was very good with a la carte options and gluten free bread and cereals if you asked for them. Location is good because you have the tube station so near and there are lots of restaureants nearby. But the best thing about this hotel is the kind and helpful staff. Next time I have to go to London I will only return if the company I work for pays for a larger room ( I usually get an upgrade in other hotels just because I stay for 4 nights)
"Excellent in every way"
All of the previous positive reviews you read about the Crowne Plaza are true. My wife, son and I stayed for 6 nights from 3/13-3/19 and we could not be more pleased with our choice. It is a great location very close to the tube station. Easy access to almost everywhere in London. Many choices of places to eat within walking distance. But don't overlook Ken's Bar in the lobby. Great food, drinks and service at a very reasonable price. Clean, comfortable rooms. We had a two bed room. WE found the beds were decent size and we have a great view of the garden. We hardly heard any hall noise. Wi-fi never failed us during our stay. PC access available with printer if needed. Wonderful secret garden which is a welcome sight in the city. Two items to make sure I highlight. First, every member of the staff was superb. We could not ask for better service. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Second, the breakfast (regular breakfast, not the club level) is truly spectacular. Again, the staff was great and began to remember our orders each morning! The buffet has great selection and there are number of cook to order items. Rita and everyone there does a great job and should be highly commended. We decided on the Kensington area to stay based on recommendation of friends, and decided on the Crowne Plaza based on Trip Advisor reviews. We are so glad we listened to both of these recommendations!
This hotel was very clean and the room was spacious for a London hotel. A wall plug was not working which made it difficult for three women to dress in the mornings but I failed to report it to the staff. This hotel is very near the "tube" - a major plus. Also the Concierge, Diego & Raj, were outstanding. They are an asset to this company! I also thought the price was reasonable.
I had not been to London for 27 years. Kensington was a superb area in which to stay. The hotel was right across the street from the tube, which was super-convenient. Lots of attractions closeby - the V&A Museum, Science Museum, Natural History Museum, as well as Kensington Palace & gardens & Harrods, all within walking distance. Pay the small extra amount for the Lounge Access at the Hotel - entitles you to breakfast & Happy Hour; coffee & tea. Backs onto a garden - such a treat. Woke up to the birds chirping every morning. Excellent service.
