"Great value family room"
Stayed here in summer but only just got round to writing a review. We stayed in a family room with two double beds, for two adults and two children. The room wa spacious and clean and the bed comfortable. The location of the hotel was great for us, we used the tube station opposite (Blackfriars) but also walked along the river to get to Covent Garden, which was an easy and pleasant walk. We didn't explore too much in the local area but there was a pub, restaurant and shops opposite. We ate breakfast in the hotel and this was the usual high standard expected of this hotel chain. Overall the room/breakfast deal represented quality at a good value which is often hard to come by in London in the school holidays!
"Great location and convenient for most areas"
A return visit to the hotel, reception staff helpful, room service good but bar staff left something to be desired. This is a great hotel, especially at weekends and closer to the west end than you might think. Good sized rooms especially if you pay a bit more for the Club rooms.
"Festive family break"
If you need anything, just ask! Offering rooms with 2 full double beds swayed my decision to book over the likes of Park plaza, Doubletree et al, plus it offered better value. The location is really good, as are the standards and cleanliness throughout the hotel, service was very good and the staff were great with my daughter. Happy girl = happy parents. We stayed on the last weekend of November, the hotel was the perfect antidote to the overcrowded sights and shopping streets. Our room was round the back of the hotel and was very quiet, often walls are thin and you can here guests returning to their rooms, but not in this case. The hotel was across the road from Blackfriars tube station, but also an easy stroll from the South Bank. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. If you have young children, remember to ask for a bathroom step as they may struggle to reach the taps. A great stay, surprisingly family friendly, worth paying the extra for. Return visit already booked.
"A fine 4+ star"
This hotel is quite good for London. Rooms are clean. Staff is well prepared and friendly. The best part of this hotel is the location. Right across the street from Blackfriars and there is a Tesco right on the block. Ate twice at the Voltaire Italian restaurant and it was simply excellent. Beds are comfortable. Breakfast is traditional British. My one complaint is that I found the internet to be quite slow. As a tech guy this kills me. Would totally stay here again.
Loved the breakfast . Fresh fruit and variety of fruit as well juices ,breads and hot items . Very attentive staff . Concierge is very attentive . Front office manager and guest relations manager both also very helpful . Excellent hotel and great location . Walking distance to Blackfriars station . Chinese restaurant food is v good but only eaten once . Italian restaurant Pizza is super fantastic .
