"Average at best"
Having recently stayed at the Crown Plaza for business I was disappointed. Whilst the location is great, it certainly didn't feel like the usual standard of a "Crown" hotel. The room was very small and cramped, and the view over the demolition site not expected. Thankfully as I was on the 10th floor I didn't hear too much of the noise, unlike other colleagues. The bathroom had that awful musty/wet dog smell (renewing the shower curtain would fix it) and the air conditioner switched itself off at nights, and no it wasn't on eco mode. This made for a very stuffy room. The breakfast was overpriced and again average at best with very slow service for coffee - with the great cafe's in Melbourne get out and utilise these if you can instead. Service at the front desk was abrupt and borderline rude at times. I was also overcharged on my final bill and had an open carton of milk in my fridge when I checked in. On day two my towels were left on my bedroom floor (not by myself as I'd hung them in the bathroom) which suggests perhaps housekeeping staff might need a few pointers. Gym was also far too small for this size/rating of hotel.
"Luxury at the pinnacle"
Crown Plaza is one of the rare experience a traveler can enjoy during his visit to Melbourne, Australia. From the room, you have the breath taking view of the river near by. The casino in the basement levels add to adrenaline rush. There is a show of water jets & lights at the reception area. The outside walkway along the riverside gives you energy and enigma. It is an exotic place beyond doubts...
The Crowne Plaza Melbourne will not be my choice in future. The location is great - close to the Casino and loads of restaurants and bars, as well as to Southgate, the arts centres and parks. Our room (910) was too small and one of my pet hates is shower over the bath. There was a bottle of water bedside which I assumed was complimentary but for which we were charged $4. WiFi was available but ar a cost of nearly $20 a day! The hotel is badly needing re-carpeting, painting and modernisation. It certainly wasn't worth the cost.
"Needs a facelift but great stay otherwise"
Great location across the river from Southbank, DFO and walking distance to CBD. Fabulous service and amenities, older hotel needing a make over but a top place to stay none the less. Staff are very accommodating, will be back!
"Warm , Gracious , Hospitality,"
This hotel is really my only go to place when staying overnight in the city or getting ready to fly out on a holiday or business trip. It is my home away from home. The staff make me feel welcome and are always aware of my room preferences I do sometimes remind them upon check in and they do everything to accommodate my requests with out even batting an eyelid . or is that raising an eyebrow'. I also have a lot of fun with the reception and concierge team , requesting extra milk and english breakfast tea bags and hot chocolate sachets and any extra glass ware or ice I may need , but they don't blink an eye and just fufil the request , I am sure they talk about me and my crazy hot chocolate and english breakfast tea and extra milk addiction , but they really do go above and beyond, This hotel is perfect for the business traveler or leisure traveler I love the new business product they offer with an aroma therapy spray mist and a great pillow selection to make you more comfortable and help you get a better sleep. Thank You Crown Plaza Melbourne and see you again soon. **** For All Travelers doing hotel or accommodation research **** if you are considering a 4 star hotel for your business trip or holiday please have a look at the hotel information and think about staying at Crown Plaza , who knows ' you may enjoy the experience as much as me , and if not just write a review like I did .
