"Comfy, clean and good value for money"
Neat and clean. Very good restaurant with excellent buffet breakfasts. Friendly and professional staff and great service. Not too close to the main areas, but taxis are readily available as are Uber taxis.
"Excellent stay and service"
Stayed here on a one night stop over in Porto. We arrived at the hotel around 9am after an early morning flight and although our room was not ready we were able to check in and leave luggage with reception. Our luggage was taken to our room on our return to the hotel. We had a 6am flight out of Porto the next day and the hotel offered us an early turn down service and booked our taxi for 3.45am the following day. Because of our early flight we also ordered take away to the hotel which was not an issue. On checkout our taxi was waiting for us early. All of the hotel staff we met were very friendly and helpful and the room was immaculate and very comfortable. We only wish we had longer to enjoy our stay.
We stayed here for 3 nights. The room was a junior suite and very spacious. Lots of choice at breakfast including Bolo Rei - Portuguese Christmas case. Only downside is location, a 10 minute walk to the nearest Metro station (Casa da Musica) and another 10 minutes to get to the old town.
"Ears still ringing"
Stayed here for 3 nights during some refurbishment ' Way too noisy, drilling so loud at times ,you could not converse with anyone. Also the smell and sound of grinders in the morning, coming through the lift shafts. That apart, staff great and room very comfortable. Hotel itself is too far out of town, but cheap taxis make up for this.
"A very pleasant stay"
My wife and I took a 5 day short break here via Fleetway travel, flying with EasyJet out of Luton airport. We arrived early following an even earlier morning flight (06.40) and anticipated that check-in would not be available until later. However, the reception staff were most welcoming and stored our luggage until our return from a long walk into town. On checking in we were informed that due to some ongoing structural alterations there would be some occasional noise during the day, but we were allocated a room on 11th floor, so noise should not be a problem. However, they stressed that they wanted our stay to be perfect and if there was anything that impinged on that then we were to let the staff know. On the day of our arrival it was my wife's birthday and our wedding anniversary a few days later. We were pleasantly surprised when a bottle of sparkling wine and a cake was later delivered to our room. All the staff were very pleasant, welcoming and endeavoured to help make our stay that bit special. We were on a bed and breakfast basis, and breakfast was the usual buffet style with a selection of hot food, cereals, fruit and all the other trimmings. Special mention should go to Fernanda for making sure that once she knew of our hot drink preferences, she would prepare and deliver same as soon as she saw us arrive for breakfast. My only comment about the breakfast would be for warm plates to be provided for the hot food. It would make such a difference. The hotel is located out of the centre of Porto but there is a bus stop almost directly outside the hotel, and the nearest Metro station at Casa da Musica is only a short walk away. Bus 201 takes you into the centre of Porto and I believe all central buses have a fixed price per journey of 1.85 euros, irrespective of distance travelled. However, I am aware that other tickets are available covering several days, both on buses and the Metro. All Metro tickets appear to only be available at the station machines, and some visitors can find them confusing. In most cases there will be a person in a high-viz jacket at the station available to assist. Fares appear to be very reasonable, and you MUST validate your ticket on every journey by holding it against an electronic machine. This applies even if you change from one line to another, you must again validate the ticket. All in all a very pleasant stay at a very nice hotel. And the building work in progress made no adverse impact on us at all. Recommended.
