"Large, North American Hotel"
Stayed two nights with a G Adventure tour. From appearances, the hotel caters primarily to business travelers and tour groups, with conveniences like wash cloths and electrical outlets to accommodate North American plugs. Breakfast is served in a large conference room, where you find a more than ample selection of hot and cold items spread out over several serving tables. Our room was relatively large with two double beds, well appointed, and quite comfortable. A few items were missing, like coffee for the coffee maker, but otherwise the room was fine and afforded a good view of Santiago. The hotel is located near a busy intersection, and while there are few eating places close by, good restaurants can be found within a ten minute walk on Lastarria and in the Bellavista neighborhood. The Baquedano subway stop can get you to many areas in the city, and riding the trains, as well as walking, is safe during the day and early evening hours. If you are interested in a large, chain hotel, the Crown Plaza is certainly worth considering; otherwise there are several smaller establishments in the general area.
"Good location friendly and helpful staff"
This hotel is centrally located being about 10 minute walk from Plaza de Armas Staff helpful and friendly Rooms clean and comfortable. But it does need a bit of a face lift as the carpets and wallpaper in the corridor are looking grubby and tired We were too early to get our room but we were able to shower in the massage suite on 3rd floor near the pool. The pool area is nice with sun loungers and a food/drinks area too. If you are on floors20-22 there is a lounge area where they serve breakfast, as well as the main restaurant , and tea, coffee and snacks are also available. Very relaxing and comfortable area Would recommend this hotel
"Good hotel and friendly staff"
A three night stay at Crown Plaza Santiago, mid-February to end a three week visit to South America and this was to unwind and prepare for the long journey back to Australia. The hotel is well situated and within easy reach of just about anywhere in Santiago with the underground just a short walk from the front door. Check in and out was fast and without any problems. Our room on the 15th floor was clean and had great views over the city. Large comfortable bed and the bathroom had the sort of amenities expected in this style of hotel. Staff throughout our stay were polite and we were made to feel welcome whenever there was staff interaction. Breakfast was so so, not a great selection to choose from but sufficient for ourselves. The hotel itself is showing signs of age and certainly our floor had seen better days with the carpets in need of change. The paintwork also needs attention. A good relaxing rooftop area alongside a pool with great views overlooking the city. Perhaps the only annoying factor was the persistent droning noise permeating through our room coming from somewhere outside the hotel and this was an irritant to us, however we always travel with ear plugs and when ready for sleep brought out the ear plugs and sleep was guaranteed for the night. Yes we would stay again at this hotel if we find ourselves in Santiago.
We stayed there as platinum card holders - extremely comfortable room, very helpful and friendly staff and the executive lounge offered a superb breakfast. It was very conveniently situated for walking to bellavista for dinner. Highly recommended.
"Due to delay of Air France one extra Nigth in Santiago"
Our flight to Paris was cancelled when we were already boarding. AF gave 350 passengers an extra Nigth in Santiago . We got a room in the Plaza, this is a typical congress hotel, a little bit outdated but otherwise perfect. Swimmingpool at third Floor really perfect, in the evening Sun !!! The hotel organised an excellent buffet for around 50-60 extra AF guests. A good job . This hotel is 10 minutes walking distance from Center or Bella Vista (restaurants). I have one critical note : your ,as we say in Dutch , huiswijn (""housewine"") per glass the carmenere and sauvignon were really poor quality and overpriced ( 4500 peseta's = 7€). Give better wine for this money ! Otherwise I wish you All the best.
