"Very Enjoyable Visit"
It was a rainy Tuesday evening after a long day when my husband and I reached the registration desk to check in for a (too short) one night/day visit. Our welcome by the Crowne Plaza Front Office Manager, Gabby, could not have been friendlier. Sincerely interested in our travel and plans, she recognized some weariness in us and went over and above to take steps to make us feel very welcome and ensure our brief stay was going to be a great one. We do have IHG Elite status and appreciate the greetings we typically receive at IHG property check-in, but this one was special. It was quite a treat to be upgraded to a corner room on a high floor with a view towards Times Square. CP properties usually do have some other nice perks for Platinum status and Gabby exceeded our expectations in that regard. She even gave us her contact information should we have any needs during this or future stays! How nice is that! Needless to say, despite it being a too short stay, we enjoyed every minute of it. Such a comfortable bed and pillows, a nice sized bathroom with long modern vanity and a good soaking tub, and the view to both the west and south (Times Sq) The next morning we enjoyed a long, leisurely breakfast in the hotel's Bistro 1605.....a big buffet with many many choices, and some excellent coffee. After that, it was time to walk it off, so we did. We returned for a late, light lunch in the Bistro, joined by our daughter-in-law who works just across the way in the very visible BARCLAYS building. After lunch it was off to a matinee THE FRONT PAGE (what a cast) then back to the Crowne Plaza for a 5 pm drink in the lobby bar and some food (crispy Kale flatbread and also Black Eye Pea hummus...both delicious) before journeying back to Philly. This Crowne Plaza property is wonderfully situated for access to theaters, shopping, Central Park strolls, and lots of restaurants (we enjoy dinner at nearby Trattoria Trecolori). If you are looking for discount theater tickets, it is just across from the TS TKTS booth for same day show offerings too. You can even keep an eye on how the lines are shaping up from the hotel breakfast room. We look forward to our next visit, a longer one, to the Crowne Plaza Times Square and enthusiastically recommend it.
"Great location, Great hotel!"
Stayed at this hotel in May/June 2016 for my first visit to New York/America and couldn't have asked for a better stay! Friendly & helpful staff, rooms got cleaned everyday always spotless, and the beds are exactly what was needed after exploring all day! Would defiantly stay here again on our next visit to NYC 😀
We stayed at the Crowne Plaza Times Square with three adults in a two-double bed room. After researching dozens of hotels in the Times Square area, I chose the Crowne Plaza based on the size of their rooms and the fact that there's a bathroom vanity. Most similarly-priced rooms have much less space and only offer a pedestal sink in the bathroom. We were very happy with the size and never felt cramped, even when all three of us were getting ready in the morning at the same time. PROS: Good-sized rooms and bathrooms, many attractions in walking distance, staff were very helpful and accommodating, concierge provided great suggestions. If you want to be in the heart of Times Square - this is it! CONS: There's no way to turn on the A/C in the winter. Our room was a muggy 76 degrees, and there was no way to cool it down. On the plus side, the front desk sent someone to help us open our window and brought us a fan to circulate air in the room. If it weren't for this temperature issue, I'd rate the Crowne Plaza 5 stars. If you find a room rate that includes breakfast, go ahead and book it. It's much more affordable to include it in your rate than to purchase separately. The breakfast buffet was pretty good, and it's fun to sit in the restaurant overlooking the neon signs of Times Square. Overall, I'd stay here again.
"Perfect location "
We spent 8 nights at the Crown Plaza over Christmas. We asked when booking for a room with a view of Times Square and wow we had a corner room on a high level with views of Times Square and the Empire State Building stunning. Would recommend highly.
"Service 1/6/17 - 1/917"
A special acknowledgement of great, friendly, helpful service to Michella who welcomed us at the front desk on 1/6 and for going to extra effort to accomodate our requests. Also a shout out for the lunchtime bartender on 1/6 (did not note his name!). Fun and friendly guy. And on 1/7 Corrine, a concierge, was another friendly helpful staff member.
