Was in New York to see a Bronx Tale and we had a fantastic visit at the hotel. The location was excellent and the breakfast was superb. Keon was our server and he provided excellent service at the buffet.
"Good midtown alternative with everything you need"
I stay at Manhattan midtown hotels quite often and this one wasn't on top of my list because of the noisy location. But I got a room on a high floor, so dint suffer from the noise, the room was quite comfortable and the hotel has a pool. My only issue was that the hotel does not supply bathrobes or slippers so you have to get dressed to go to the pool and if you don't, including shoes, they will comment. In addition, the pool isn't very large and as it also serves a sports club, you ma have to wait a while for a lane to swim in.
"Needs a revamp !"
Having stayed at the hotel a few years ago and had a great stay and was familiar with the location, I decided to book for our honeymoon- what a big disappointment. I believe the hotel ownership has changed recently and it certainly was not the place I had previously visited and bragged about. Standards have dropped , food is terrible and customer service needs vast improvement as per previous comments. Check-in was rushed , our hotel voucher confirmed we were a honeymoon couple and I again mentioned this (totally ignored by the lady on the desk!) on arrival at our room I took one look and walked back down to reception it was dark, dreary and small. I was then allocated a corner room, which I was told was the best available this was a little better not much we were tired and dreary and I really was sooo disappointed at the money I had spent on this hotel for our honeymoon and nothing extra included when I could of spent it at another hotel nearby. Rooms are dreary and need updating, curtains were falling off when I tried to pull them at night, bathrooms are small (I shouldn't even call them bathrooms because there was no bath just a shower) when having a shower in our room the tray filled with water and started spilling out the shower door so you had to promptly finish off showering, there must be some drainage issue. We had breakfast one morning there it was expensive and run of the mill there was definitely a huge cutback on the availability of choice from my previous visit. We stopped off for a drink at the bar another night, rude customer service again and the food that was been served did not look great. As one previous commenter mentioned it is like Grand Central Station very busy people coming and going there seems to be no order to the reception area it is definitely not a relaxing atmosphere. On check -in we were told there was an additional fee per night which included (free international calls/ wifi /drinks voucher etc) which we paid . Finally, just when I thought it could not get any worse I woke up at about 1am on our last night to find an envelope posted through my door with a bill of nearly $400 for international calls which I had made ...it was too late to ring anyone to ask what this was about (as i tried to remember what the girl said at check in about international calls as she had rushed everything about check in ). Needless to say i didn't get a winks sleep that night and it was the final nail in the hotel from hell... The next day i rang customer service who explained that i was to ignore the bill it was just a total of all calls made for my reference & that calls were free...why bother throwing this letter through my door in the middle of the night. I will never stay here again, there are much nicer hotels nearby at the same price and with less confusion around extra payments/what is free and not and customer service is bound to be a lot better. The only pleasant people at the hotel i might add were the Bell boys who took the luggage and the Concierge who was knowledgable.
"Very central to the heart of times square"
We stayed at this property purely going off the pictures and location from their website not knowing anything about New York, and couldn't have pick a better location as everything is right outside the front door or a short to mid walk away. Travelling with a 8yr old everyone was telling us that everywhere was far to walk, well we found it to be the opposite, especially after walking off heavy breakfast each from the local restaurants we sometimes surprised ourselves as to where we walked to. Highly recommend doing the hop on hop off tours but not the one we took as their lack of customer service was appalling when they left us waiting for almost 3hrs in the freezing cold for a bus to turn up with the person in charged kept saying one was coming (unfortunately can't recall the name but its a yellow and burgundy coloured bus) Surprisingly though at the time I wasn't sure about New York due to peoples comments prior to going definitely was 50/50 on it while I was there, but after visiting LA on the next leg NYC smashes LA
"Close to Times Square"
Great location within walking distance to broadway, Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall. Nice concierge service. Next door to Hershey and across the street from M & M Store. Restaurants close by as well as on premises.
