"Average Hotel "
This is not a place where you can enjoy a romantic weekend, we stayed here for the weekend 2 nights and paid near enough £200. The walls are quite thin so we had to listen to another couple next door. Then at 7am children were screaming down the corridor.... just not acceptable. That's not the hotels fault, but not very sound proof. The hotel spa is average but is quite busy at times with children again, not a romantic experience over Valentine's weekend. Breakfast is nice but on a weekend is manic. The hotel is spread out quite a bit but it's nice ish.
"Relaxing one night stay"
We have used this hotel previously and again it did not disappoint. Free upgrade on arrival set the tone for a relaxing evening followed by a morning in the spa. All staff were extremely helpful and the room was ideal with a lovely view. Have already booked our next trip, next time with our three children !
"Ok- not breathtaking"
Paid £200 for an overnight stay for 3- so expected wonders... was average. Frosty receptionist upon arrival, weird layout of hotel making it tricky to find room, no robes offered in spa (this would have made such a difference to us as we were in and out of the place due to our room not being ready), tiny towels, no jacuzzi!'! Weird! Every single member of staff had English as a second/third language which is fine- if there's no barrier when ordering food etc- but they couldn't understand what was being said. Room was average, maybe of 3 star status- clean at least I will say that. Nothing in the mini bar- so why have a mini-bar'! Hmmm. Only half a toilet roll upon arrival- for 3 adults!' No water in the room... Spa treatment was amazing and well performed, massive credit to the therapist in the beauty room, she deserves it for being so lovely. So she was amazing, Keith (doorman/concierge) was extremely helpful! Just a little pricey for a basic 3 star stay.
"Fabulous last minute Family Get Awy"
I booked this as a last minute family get away for a couple of days when my boys were on a break from school. The hotel was excellent from start to finish from reception staff, to bar staff, leisure staff and waiting staff at breakfast they could not have done more for us. The room was very comfortable and the facilities are excellent. We used the pool and fitness suite as well as the driving range which were all great. We ate breakfast in the restaurant and the food was plentiful and of excellent quality and choice. The bar staff were very friendly and great with the children, having a chat about their day and chatting about football. Overall this was a great choice of hotel and I will definitely be back soon for some more of the same. Thank you for an excellent relaxing few days.
"Perfect base for exploring Edinburgh"
We have just returned from a 4 night stay in a family room which was ideal for us and our 9 and 11 year old. The delicious buffet breakfast set us up for the day before we walked up to the main road and caught the local bus into Edinburgh. Once we had finished our day of sightseeing we caught the bus home - and headed to the pool/sauna and steam room - the perfect combination of relaxation and exploring the city!
