"Vist of the Scotland Rugby League$ Nations Squad"
I am writing to thank you for the incredible experience that the Scotland Rugby League Team have had at the Dalmahoy Hotel and Country Club on our recent visit as part of our build up for the Ladbrokes 4 Nations International Rugby Tournament. It was essential for our squad to have a good start to our Camp and we certainly were not disappointed with the Dalmahoy Hotel. The food was of the highest standard and some of the Senior members of staff, who have travelled worldwide with the Scotland Squad for many years stated that the food was probably the best that they have eaten. The facilities were of the highest order and the rooms were excellent, comfortable and well appointed. Special mention to the staff especially Floris Grootenboer, our appointed representative and ‘ROB’ the Chef. Neither of them could do enough for us and certainly excelled in their mission. We certainly hope to have the pleasure of attending at the Dalmahoy Hotel in the future.
"Stay before going to Edinburgh airports "

"Stay at Dalmahoy"
Visited the hotel for a few days. The main building is very nice and the bar has a nice feel to it, very relaxing and in keeping with the building. Food was very good and no complaints. We had a few issues however the management quickly resolved these quickly and without fuss. Something not many hotels do.
"Golfing Weekend for 20"
Overall the Dalmahoy Country Club provided 20 middle aged male golfers with an outstanding venue, 2 wonderfully maintained golf courses and an hotel staff determined to make our stay perfect. The accomodation at Dalmahoy is extremely comfortable, and there is a lot of it. Each of our 10 double-double rooms was spacious, well appointed and very clean. The size of the complex meant that it was a bit of a slog with golf clubs out to the front of the hotel, but worth it for the good rooms. The restaurant and brasserie catered for all our meals. Saturday breakfast was early and quiet, while Sunday was later and chock full. However, the busyness made no difference to the high standard of food available and the efficient and friendly staff soon had coffee on the table, while shuffling seats to sit us together. Saturday evening we had an excellent dinner in the Pentland Restaurant, with food arriving hot and ready at the same time. The discussions on menu choice with Lynne, who took our booking, meant that our party was well catered for. A particular mention must be made of Karen in the Brasserie, who not only packed our lunch at very short notice when we took too long with the morning round, but also on Sunday hustled the food orders to get our early leavers off to their planes on time. The golf courses were beautifully maintained, and in particular the East course was delightful to play. Despite it's length there were enough bail outs and open areas to allow all of our handicap range (7 to hacker) to have a go at the spectacular shots that come off once a round. The West course is short but tight, and with smaller greens it provided a good short game test. The bars at the hotel were reasonably priced for the type of venue. The one minor negative point would be that they lacked atmosphere - we suspect that with Edinburgh so close many headed out that way. However, the accomodating staff and golf on the TV were great. Finally, the staff at Dalmahoy, as well as the wonderful setting, were what made our weekend special. Even before we got there the details mattered to them as much as they did to us, and at every turn they made sure we were looked after. From the pro shop staff to the event management staff everyone made us feel welcome and deserve a large thank you from me and my group. If we ever meet again in Scotland I fully expect it to be at Dalmahoy.
We had been interested in staying at this property before but as it is situated only 30 minutes from Home , it seemed to close somehow. However , when we had a chance to visit with friends for a couple of nights we decided to try it out , we're so glad we did. We were met at reception with a lovely friendly welcome and an apology as "The system was down" , not really anyone's fault but we were taken to The Cocktail Bar and offered a drink , no complaints here. We were eventually checked in without too long a wait and upgraded ourselves to one of the seven rooms in the original building, which gave us views over the golf course and on to Edinburgh with The Castle and Arthurs Seat in the background , we were also lucky to have an old brass telescope in the Room. We used both the Pentland and The Brassery restaurants and , although very different fare, found the food and service excellent in each of them . The Breakfast , served in the Pentland , was sumptuous , with a superb array of choices. The thing that really made our stay special was the relaxed atmosphere which had much to do with the friendliness and professionalism of the staff , hardly anyone passed without a friendly greeting , the teamwork really showed. Thanks to all who made this short break a pleasure and a special thanks to Sophie, Neil, Bogdan , Maggie and (Thirsty) Kirsty.
