We stayed at this hotel for a birthday weekend for my husband. We chose this hotel because Mandalay Bay was fully booked for the first weekend of January but it wasn't a big deal for us since Delano is next to Mandalay Bay. Delano, I believe is more spacious than some of the rooms in Mandalay Bay. Even though I have not stayed at Mandalay Bay, but reading and comparing their features on their website, it just looks like Delano had more room. If I'm not mistaken, our room was about 765 sq ft. That's pretty spacious comparing to the 300-400 sq ft. rooms a lot of the hotels were offering for almost the same amount of price, if not more. We ended up getting the 2 queen size bedrooms because we had another couple stay with us for the weekend and like I said, it was spacious. It had a separate living room and another bathroom. The master bathroom was large, with a hot tub, a built in tv and a see-through shower. It had a his and her sink and a separate room for another bathroom. The bedding was comfortable and the closets were spacious as well. Overall, we had a good stay at Delano. The staff was very nice and answered any questions we had. Their decor was modern and lovely. We didn't get the chance to order any room service or eat in any of their restaurants, but the ambiance was really nice. They had live musicians play in the main lobby and I liked how convenient it was to just go down the hall, up the escalators to a mini mall that connected to the Luxor hotel. Overall, I'd stay here at this hotel again and if we do, we'll use more of their amenities next time like the gym and the pool.
"Just OK.. Gym sucks"
Hotel rooms are good, bed comfortable. minimal decorations and storage, but the suite is big, so you will not have an issue. Towels are worn. No robe in the room, but we asked for them and they were delivered. Robs also very worn. We stayed 4 nights and they never replaced the soap/shampoo. I do not consider this a high end property. Drink glasses brought up from casino sat out in the hall by our door all 4 nights. Just slightly better than Mandalay. My big complaint, the resort fee. I have a problem this this fee in the first place. I know this is for the use of the pool, gym and internet. Well in January you are not using the pool, so the best you get is the gym. While I know many don't go to Vegas to use the gym, I do. So this was a total disappointment. Minimal and what machines they do have are broken. If you are going to charge $38 fee, for goodness sake, fix the gym. Will not return
"Budget for parking fees and additional resort fees"
Very pleasant boutique style hotel. The particular benefit for us is that we traveled there as a family of four that could stay in an affordable suite (off-season pricing). The entry area from the adjacent garage is a nice contrast to the standard Vegas experience of having to hump your luggage through a casino to check in. Even better, Delano pumps pleasing scents into the reception/downstairs area, again a contrast to the cigarette smoke/oxygen combo common to the standard casino hotel. The suite was very comfortable and having two toilets helped the family get on the road faster the next morning. Accommodations and amenities were above expectations. Having been to LV many times, I was put off by the parking fee. I'm used to the resort fee extortion no matter how much I dislike it. And there's the resort fee tax, to boot. Resort fees and taxes came to $35 in addition to the "room price, taxes & fees" charged by Expedia. The self parking costs $10/night in addition. All of these pile-on fees brought my evaluation of the Delano down a notch from excellent.
"Fabulous small hotel "
Family and I checked into the Delano late one night/early one morning. The average room was fabulous it was a suite like set up with a sitting area, wet bar and a separate bedroom. Half bath in the sitting area and a generously sized full bath in the bedroom. The room was clean and bright. The bed was very comfortable the sheets and the pillows of a high standard. Would definitely stay there again and I am happy to recommend this property
"Beware of Perking Fees!"
First the bad. Parking isn't free unless you have a gold player card or above. Lets not forget the resort fees too. That said the room was cheap when we stayed. When you are flexible you can find some deals. My wife has a Gold players card so we got free parking. The only other not rely bad was we never got the same number of towels and bath mats each day. But we always got new soaps. The room was nice and big and had a great view of the mountains and city. Get a higher floor for the view. The room was a bit conservatively styled for my liking. The lobby was really cool. I wished the room looked like that. Instead of a pen with Delano on it, it had a pencil. Just an observation, pencils are just fine. Check in and elevations were quick. Room was clean and in good condition. Internet was quick. The "fire" alarm went off in the middle of the night, but it didn't tell us to leave the building, but said that something happened and they were looking into it. Don't wake me up unless you need me to leave! Doesn't that make sense' Will I stay there again' Yes. Coming back in February.
