"All brawn no brains"
This place reminds me of the beautiful cheerleader that has no substance. Once you walk into this hotel you are impressed with the decor and comfort that exudes. The lobby area, bar and check in is on point. I was disappointed once in the room. Location - 4 A little off the strip but the free tram and taxi makes is work. Far away enough for some peace yet close enough to party. Comfort - 4 As mentioned, a 5 when walking in then a 3 in the room Misc. - 1 2 things that just bothered me. Mattress must be old since both queens in the room were lob-sided, ie wear and tear of people sleeping closest to the tv. Shower pressure was perfect but the temperature was inconsistent like a moody hungry cheerleader. Ok for a little bit before she got cold.
Good hotel. Excellent breakfast from room service! Good beds, but pillows were lumpy, even though we asked for replacements. No shower gel was strange. Suite is comfortable. Coffee in room costs almost $5. Most hotels provide free coffee, but this is Vegas. Good turndown service. Beautiful roof top lounge, with great views from the 62nd floor.
"Great 7 Night Stay!"
What a fantastic hotel! This hotel has jumped to the top of my Las Vegas hotel list! The staff are fantastic and make your stay the 5* experience you hope it will be. I booked 7 nights via M Life and got a fantastic offer for the 7 nights. I stayed in Room 18-911 overlooking the Mountains. The room was a King Size Room and was a Suite. You have a lovely entrance hallway, half bathroom, large lounge with sofa, chairs, desk, TV and Mini Bar. You then have a separate bedroom with a King size bed, bedside tables, seating area, Reading lamp, 2 x double wardrobes, 7 drawers and Safe. This then leads into the Bathroom, that contains a walk in shower, bath tub, 2 x vanity sinks and toilet. There was more than an enough room for a solo traveller! The decor of the rooms and hallways is very calming. I used Franklin Bar, Della's Kitchen, Skyfall Lounge & Rivea in Delano for my drinking and eating options. I also used The Noodle Shop, Citizens and StripSteak at Mandalay Bay also! All of the staff I came across offered excellent customer service and engaged well with me, as a solo traveller. Delano is a five star resort and offers a non-smoking hotel with decadence. I thoroughly enjoyed my time and look forward to returning to Delano in the near future!
"BEAUTIFUL HOTEL WITH MARGINAL, BUT EXPENSIVE, FOOD"
The hotel is lovely and staff is amazing. This is an all suite hotel with lovely decor boasting 1.5 bathrooms, spacious living room, bedroom and main bath. We so looked forward to a Vegas style buffet so we went to their lunch buffet. The only word for the food is terrible. It was all "Gordon Food Service" style but with less flavor. We arrived before 1pm and, though the buffet was supposed to go until 2pm, an entire food station sat without being replenished. The only good food that we found were fresh blackberries and blueberries. The yogurt that was to garnish them with was cheap and runny. There were no carving or fresh meat stations. Food items were dried out in many cases. The sandwich that I purchased at CVS Pharmacy the next day was far superior to any food item that the buffet offered! We tried Della's Cafe for breakfast and found that restaurant to be fine. The kicker there is that they charge $.50 per person for water!!!!! My breakfast was $33 so one would have thought that water would be complimentary. All in all, I would stay in a hotel that has better restaurant and food offerings that the Mandalay/Delano/Four Seasons has to offer!
I was very impressed with The Delano. This hotel is an extension of The Mandalay Bay and offers a casino free experience! The room and beds are very inviting. Pros: casino free experience Cons: far from strip and charge a parking fee.
