"Nice Hotel - Rooms are not as quiet as they could be"
The Delano is a nice hotel and the rooms are good sized. They are decorated in a very modern "white" scheme which does lack some warmth. However, the room and the beds are quite comfortable. My one complaint is with the noise in the rooms. I had an eighth floor room and could hear both the traffic and the air-conditioning fans (the large ones on the roof top below) all night long. If you like it quite when you sleep - ask for a room facing the strip. For the money, I would probably stay elsewhere next time.
"Stayed for a Conference"
Recently stayed at the Delano for a conference being held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. To start, the hotel did not honor the conference rate that had been advertised which was disappointing and I would not have stayed here if I had been aware. My stay was enjoyable. The room was well appointed, furnished and comfortable. The view of the strip from my room was very nice. Plan on walking, a lot of walking regardless of where you are going. I enjoyed my stay but it's unlikely that I would stay here again due to the cost.
"One night only "
Came up for a night to revisit Vegas and stay on Delano which was a pleasure. Rooms were great, clean and comfortable. All services and staff were to a high standard and all together an enjoyable visit
"Gorgeous, but pricey amenities"
This hotel is a perfect overnight stay if you have concert tickets. The Delano shares a lobby/casino with Mandalay Bay, so if you're going to see Michael Jackson ONE or anything in the Mandalay Event Center, the rooms at the Delano are actually closer than the Mandalay. Also, Delano rooms are suites forb about the same price as Mandalay, so the extra space is a plus for families and groups. For $232, our Delano room had 1 bedroom, plus living room with sofa, plus bar area with sink and mirror, plus 1 and 1/2 bath. It was perfect for 4 women getting ready for a concert. The room itself is very pretty. Simple, but we'll appointed. Comfy beds. Decent view. There were 3 TVS - living room, bedroom and bathroom. Closets were lighted, and there's a safe. The 2 queen beds were comfy. Note, none of the Denalo rooms have pull out sofas, so the only beds are the two queens or one king you have in the bedroom. The sofa is small and would be suitable for a younger child or very petite adult, but they would actually be sleeping on a sofa, not a pull out sofa bed. The half bath was adequate - toilet and sink, good lighting, good mirror. The bigger bathroom was OUTSTANDING. It had two sinks and a big mirror plus a well-lit close-up mirror. There is a shower plus a very big bathtub for soaking. Very nice. Also, the toilet in this bath area is separated by its own door, so someone can be doing hair /makeup at the vanity while someone else is going potty with privacy. That was a bonus with 4 girls getting ready for a show. What I didn't like about this room was the nickel-and-dime aspect to their amenities. Yes, there's a little wet bar and a mini fridge. But everything is on an electronic sensor, so if could touch anything, it automatically gets added to the bill. I don't usually have minibar items, but I'll take a look. I turned a bottle of alcohol to see what it was, and that minor movement automatically came up as a room charge. Also, there was a little coffee machine but you pay for use of the coffee cup itself. I lifted up the coffee cup to see the price and I was floored to see a price tag on top: $4.50 if you use the cup or the sugar or the creamer inside. Get that' You pay for the use of the coffee cup. No other opyion in this room. The front desk staff was nice enough and easily removed those items from our bill. But be aware, especially if you have kids with the wiggles or throw your bag on the wet bar counter -- if you bump something and don't double check it before you leave, you will be charged for that item. And let's be honest: $4.50 for the use of a coffee cup is kind of ridiculous, especially when you're already spending a couple hundred dollars a night to stay at a hotel which offers in-room coffee. Also, no complimentary water bottles here like other hotels and resorts in the area provide. By comparison, I stayed at the Trump a couple months ago for a business conference. Think what you like about politics, but that hotel room was fully stocked with all the amenities, complimentary coffe, water, etc. Seems a small concession for a $200+ room.
"Home away from home"
Excellent rooms and service. The rooms were so spacious and clean. Laundry service was 24hrs so this didn't disappoint. Coffee bar at reception is quite good and not that expensive. Breakfast area Farm Fresh food is fantastic. Overall a great place to stay.
