"Resort on the Hill"
We stayed as a couple at Diamond Cliff for 7 days. We arrived at 11am and unfortunately room was not available until 2pm so we changed into bathers and lurked around the pool for awhile then we went for a walk down the Patong strip. When we returned the room was ready. The room did look as advertised on the net only concern I had was the proximity to the road and there was no king bed. The girl who showed us the room went to see if we could get the same room (1110) with a king bed. No such luck hotel was fully booked. I spoke to the manager who advised me we could have an upgrade room on Wednesday. Checked the upgrade room on Wednesday had concerns about the steps and drop down in bathroom as I have a bad back we declined the room and was offered same style of room with a King (1112) on Thursday. The spa and bathroom in 1st room was in better condition but the fridge and to in second room was better. The internet is free but is as slow as. The room service is very limited which is a shame as when you get back from tours late you don't always want to drag yourselves our when you are stuffed. The staff are very friendly but the room cleaners are not consistent with their cleaning kept having to ring up for things that they had not replaced. The breakfast room is only temporary due to renovations very old and tired looking. However the fare on offer for breakfast is varied although they need to keep things a lot hotter. They offered us breakfast early to the room on our checkout day for 5am but it did not turn up. Yes the resort is very hilly but they have a shuttle that drives back and forth to where ever you want to go. This resort may not suit the older or infirm person.
I would rate it as Good. Excellent and very friendly staff. You are sure to find a smile whenever you meet them. We got upgrade to an Ocean View Room with Jacuzzi. It was worth it. Cleanliness can be improved. The house keeping staff were very helpful and ever ready to help. Location is just 3-4 mins from Patong Beach. There are plenty of hotels in the vicinity to enjoy some local food at a cheaper option. Tour operators can be found in plenty if you walk down to Patong town. You will get it at less half the rate from the Hotels. There is a Family Mart within in 3-4 mins walking distance from the Hotel. You can get all your groceries from there(including alcohol which otherwise will cost 3 times the price in the hotel).
"Relaxing resort, great rooms, excellent service"
I visited the Diamond Cliff with my mum and partner for the last 3 days of our Thailand trip and it was a great way to finish our trip. From check-in, the staff were friendly and helpful. Due to construction in one part of the hotel (not disruptive), we were upgraded to 2 rooms in the Grand Wing suite, which were superb. The rooms were very large, with a dressing room, separate shower, bathtub and toilet. The bedroom was huge, with a seating area, dining table and a very comfortable bed. My mum's room interconnected with ours and was just as good. The main pool area was very relaxing and the pool large, with a slide (great fun), waterfall, jacuzzi, a swim up pool and plenty of loungers and areas to relax, covering all angles for sunsoakers and those (like me) who enjoy the shade. There is a shuttle cart that runs up and down the hill to the rooms pretty much constantly and the staff were very helpful by helping with everything we needed. The location is close to Patong beach (5-10 minutes walk) and a tuk-tuk or taxi into the centre of Patong is about 200 baht each way. I recommend trying the food market near the Big-C supermarket - superb. Overall, I loved this hotel. My mum was delighted and said it was the nicest place she'd ever stayed. Definitely worth it.
"One of beautiful resorts in phuket."
First of all, it is such a beautiful place, 5 minutes walk to the beach, 15-20 minutes to the night bar Street. The room is nice and clean. Swimming pool is marvelous. Staffs are good but not excellent, I got stopped by them night staffs at 2 am, as I am Thai checking in with a Caucasian guy to recheck, if I am registered to stay in the resort. But never mind, I understand that phuket is a sex tourist town. But I do believe that, in this case will never happen again to other guests. Overall I have a good time there. And your staffs should have a nice welcome smile on the face too. Peace✌
"It really is the quiet end of Patong!"
Which makes coming back to this hotel so nice. The hotel is having renovations done which I expect will be done by the time high season is in full swing. Saying that the renovations have had little impact on us and will make a nice hotel better. It was nice to see faces from our last visit - Poo who drives the shuttle and really is a roving ambassador for the hotel, Kitayporn who makes the best omelette bar none, the trio who serenades - the lady singer has a beautiful voice, and all the staff who make this a fantastic place because they care of the little things.
