"Great Hotel in Cuidad Vieja "
This little hotel is a great place to stay if you want to be in Montevideo's Cuidad Vieja section. The hotel has a great contemporary design. Close to some Mercado Del Puerto with some good eats. There is a really nice deck with pool and roof top bar with cool views of the port and city. The rooms are clean, same cool style and well maintain. They are somewhat small. So don't expect a lot of space. The staff is the best here. Very helpful, informative and friendly.
I highly recommend this hotel. The reception staff are knowledgeable not only about the local attractions but their country's political and economic landscape and willing to share over a vino. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable.
The hotel is situated 1 block from the Rambla with many restaurants within walking distance. Staff was very accommodating for my elderly parents that had to change rooms due to hard to enter tub. Breakfast was wonderful and included. Would definitely recommend. Although hotel decor is a bit dated everything else made up for it. Although they offer valet parking we are on street with no issues. T
"Friendly hotel with nice pool area and breakfast"
Nice place in old town very near to the ferry from BuenosAires (10 min walking) with shops and restaurants nearby. The pool area is very nice with sun chairs and showers, nice breakfast and friendly staff. The room was ok, even with no view out from the window. Dark, narrow streets in evening, ok during daylight, but of course it is the old town. Said to be safe nowadays, even in evenings, but I am not 100% sure. Suggestion is that the hotel could help with ordering food to the room, since no restaurant near the hotel evenings. I did not check however if room service was available. Value for money was average.
"Friendly, well located hotel in this not-very-touristic city"
A warm welcome and helpful advice from the receptionist got me off to a great start here. My room was comfortable, albeit with no view, but that was made up for by the rooftop pool, sundeck and views over other buildings to the port. the location is right behind the meat market, which means that a good meal is close at hand. I only had two days in Montevideo, awaiting departure on a ship, and the city failed to impress - no obvious tourist attractions, apart from the dilapidated state of the Ciudad Vieja - not as bad as Habana Vieja but still awaiting the investment now going into Panama City's historic quarter. Anyway, if you do end up passing through Montevideo, this is one of the city's boutique hotels and B&Bs that you can consider.
