"Beautiful location, needs some attention to detail"
This is one of the series of 4+ star hotels on the strip of Jom Tien beach, Pattaya. The Dor Shada entrance is magnificent, it looks like a mix between a temple and and a huge old fashioned Thai style house. Staff is friendly and efficient. The rooms are big and light, the bed really comfortable. Our room had a little balcony, which is always nice. Bathroom is functional, could use freshening up, but is sufficient. The pool areas are not really up to standard anymore; the outdoor area looks a bit run down. The pool bar is very nice, sitting in the water on concrete but surprisingly comfortable bar stools. The beach area could be great, but is not anymore. There are lots of trees on the beach, so shadow is readily available. But most of the wooden deck chairs are broken, most mattresses are torn and dirty, the area is not cleaned and newly set up at night, so it looks messy and run down. There are big bean bags in this area as well, a really nice idea, but again torn, leaking tiny foam balls and dirty. A real pity, as the area is so pretty and so much could be done to make it truly beautiful! Breakfast is nothing extraordinary, but the spread is reasonable and looks/tastes good. It would be nice though if the person behind the egg station spoke at least the egg language in English, so that you can explain what kind of egg you'd like.... Having stayed at the Movenpick and the Ravindra, all comparable price and location wise, this one is not the one I would return to for another week end at the sea.
"Nice resort with long beach access"
The resort is huge with various corners with activities. The room was at a right size, spacious, and well maintained. The beach was accessible from the hotel. We did walk on the beach up to the yacht club after dinner. Breakfast was OK, a good variety and good taste. However, the service in the restaurant was fantastic.
"Nice. Definitely coming back."
The location is right on Na Jomtien beach. Enough chairs by the pool and the beach. Spacious swimming pools. Staffs were nice. Decoration was a bit like temples. Breakfast could be improved. 7-11 in front of the hotel.
Rooms have no soul. Staff are pleasant but utterly incompetent. Lots of smiling, agreeing & then nothing gets done. Sat in the restaurant & they've been discussing how to make a latte, all arguing about it in a clueless manner. Didn't bother making our room up yesterday; make up room sign was def on. At 4500THB for their most basic room, it's TOTALLY overpriced. Half of that would be fair. I'd rather stay at the Overlook with the Torrance family.
"Terrible place and probably the worst I stayed in Thailand"
I have stayed at this place due to a conference, and I must say I am deeply disappointed. The place is huge, well maintained from outside, and right next to the beach. But that's where the positive stuff stops and unfortunately they are not of any use to me. As a traveler, I needed a good night sleep and the Air conditioner is 'fixed' at a preset 27C temp. Secondly, they do not even have a Iron Box in the room and "urgent" service is charged at 50% premium to their horrendous list prices. Washroom seems to be blocked and room maintenance found an easy solution that is to remove the trap door, filter and let it be open. Lastly, except one or two front desk people none seems to understand any other language than Thai. So here I am, staying at a 'resort' with horrible sleep quality, horrendous value and terrible WiFi.
