Over the past 6 years I have stayed at this location. This time there was and issue with the Air conditioning. Which seems to have become and issue with many hotels in the world. Not allow control of the cool air in the room. It has a limit. I'm not sure if it was maintenance issue or a control issue. Full cold, but never seemed to cool down. Very quite rooms. Good staff.
"Nice hotel but lacks in certain areas "
This is the first time of staying at this hotel , the rooms are lovely very luxurious, good facilities in every room with the usual personal touches , beauty kits flannels , tea and coffee making facilities. I would have given 5* but there are a few areas that need attention . The first few days the cleaner came and never cleaned or refilled the tea/coffee making facilities , it was day 5 before another cleaner actually came along and cleaned this area, it advertises free bottle of water everyday , day 1 we got one I ask the next day & was told you will have to ask at reception if you want one ..... shouldn't that be refilled automatically ' Like the tea and coffee should be' The breakfast was very expensive 29 euros per person !!! We had it one day and it left a lot to be desired it certainly wasn't worth 29euros !! The hotel lift does have a lovely view of the Dom which Is a nice touch , it just needs some attention in certain areas. Having said that we would come here again without hesitation.
"Smart spot for old Cologne"
I really enjoyed this place. Location perfect for old town: 3 mins' walk from square and shopping district on doorstep; Ubahn station right outside. Hotel was a shade pricier than I usually splash on but was satisfied with value: charming staff; wonderful facilities, esp. cocktail lounge which did amazing, authentic drinks; rooms superbly appointed with all you'd expect from 5-star; comfy beds and great size room even for my standard double. Didn't like shower: it was a lovely big "wet room" style cubicle but the door didn't shut properly (design fault, rather than faulty door) so bathroom was soaked each morning. Only thing I didn't like! Oh, and it's too classy a place to do the tedious pre-auth of card. You can charge everything to room as you go and pay on checkout: not on check in. Adds to comfort of stay.
"Stylish and a superb breakfast "
The Dorint hotel speaks of style, elegance and professionalism. Everyone of the staff was courteous and able to speak English fluently. The breakfast had to widest selection we have seen on our tour in Germany and was excellent. Parking is available in a public garage located below the hotel with a direct link to the hotel. Do take note that the entrance to the garage is on an adjacent street. Highly recommended.
"Very Nice Hotel"
I stayed here for a conference and it worked very well. There is a tram stop very near (Heumarkt), just off the river and convenient. The room was very functional and comfortable. The did a nice job on the elevators and made the side facing the Cathedral glass so if you're staying on an upper floor, you see the Cathedral appear as you go.
