A friendly reception, a lovely lunch at the hotel's restaurant The Potting Shed, a room with a view over the Dorset square and a comfortable queen size bed with a good selection of feather pillows. A beautiful bathroom with rain shower, high quality amenities and a playful range of snacks and drinks in the mini bar. A quiet and welcoming drawing room for all guests, and a location both central and secluded. Breakfast is heavenly as well, by the way. This is such a charming, bespoke, luxurious and quirky hotel, suitable for lovers, creative business travellers and families alike. I could simply not ask for more.
"My London dream home"
I just love this place. Have stayed 3 times now, just for one night, and it feels like the second home I wish I had! Incredibly beautiful and quirky decor with fabulous upholstery and textiles, wonderfully comfy beds and the best hotel pillows I have ever had. Some rooms are small, as other reviews point out, but all are perfectly formed. No tea-making facilities but room service is super-fast at bringing delicious loose-leaf brews rather than terribly teabags! Potting Shed bar and restaurant are favourites in London even when we're not staying overnight and offer a lovely atmosphere to meet friends. Staff very warm and welcoming. I noticed at breakfast several women eating alone, possibly on business and loving the homely stylishness of this chic place rather than the bigger corporate hotels' But my husband also agrees this is his favourite London hotel and he travels a lot, so it's certainly not just for the girls.
"Weekend Birthday Treat"
We were lucky enough to visit the hotel as a group of 10 for a birthday celebration. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff who were kind enough to upgrade the birthday girl to one of their premier suites! The decor and rooms are gorgeous, if a little small / bijou, but very well decorated and filled with record players and collections and cool furniture and fixtures. We had the afternoon tea, which was great but very hard to 'complete!', nicely walked off in regents park, just 2 minutes away! We went to a show in the West End and were booked in for food in the potting shed afterwards. Although we didnt sit down to eat until 1030, the staff were extremely accomodating and the food was excellent!! An amazing night sleep in extremely comfy beds, the only downside was having to get out of it for breakfast! A great base for a weekend in London, and one ill remember for a long time!
Having never written a trip advisor review before, we felt compelled to provide some feedback on our recent stay. We have just returned home having spent two lovely nights at the hotel. The staff were without exception friendly, attentive and very professional. The hotel is immaculately presented, with very stylish interiors. The breakfast each morning was exceptional and the staff knew it was my wife's birthday and provided us with complimentary champagne. We will always return to this hotel when staying in London - so much better than in one of the large 5 star corporate hotels.
"Best find in London"
Brilliant hotel, staff were amazing! All of them went out of their way to contribute to making my stay comfortable. Breakfast was a daily highlight! Rooms are comfortable and of decent size in London terms. You can book this gem with confidence....
