"Excellent value for money but not without flaws"
My pre-booked room rate was £107.00 incl vat but without breakfast. A voucher was purchased at the discounted rate of £11.00 for the full buffet breakfast. I was impressed by the room except for the total absence of 13amp plugs at the otherwise good work desk. Good adjustable chair, wide worktop and effective lighting but where to plug in laptop and battery charger for mobile' Bed was kingsize and comfortable, TV flat screen with plenty of channels and Aircon worked. However nothing but praise for the bathroom. Plenty of shelf space around the basin, easy to work shower and importantly a strong well positioned safety handle on the wall. Non-slip mat available (without having to ask at Reception), good towels and it was spotlessly clean. Overall, very pleasant and effective accommodation
Stayed in hotel for a midweek break. The hotel is nice and undergoing a modernisation program. Ate in Pierre whyte restraunt which was great Spa very good had two treatments and enjoyed it. Would go again
"The hotel of the area"
As always the position, the service and the value for money were tghe best. We spent two days there and enjoyed the pleasant atmosfear and the nice breakfast. For the first time they had an outside lets say caffe areaor bar. The service there was acceptable but not perfect as the tables were cleaned with a lot of delay and we had to use tables which were not clean waiting for the staff to appear,
"Staff party Gorgeous food, amazing place"
We have been 2 years in a row now to have our staff party and both times we have been well looked after, served quickly for drinks and the food was amazing! There was 18 of us this time and not one of us had a bad thing to say, the DJ was also great he put a wide variety of music on so it suited everyone. Tom and Dave who worked there looked after us well.
My partner and I visited the DoubleTree by Hilton as we were visiting Chester, and after a long drive, we needed some relaxation. I emailed ahead as we weren't members or guests at the hotel, but wanted to use the facilities. Arriving at the reception the lady behind the desk greeted us and explained that the information I had been given was incorrect, but was happy to let us in anyway due to the miscommunication at the rate that was described over email. The spa itself is beautiful, has all the facilities that you could want. However, it was completely full of children. The pool is very close to all the rooms, so you could hear screaming children while sitting in the steam room - very relaxing. There was a sign saying no children under 8 are allowed in the hydrotherapy section, but we didn't see any staff around so this wasn't kept too. It has great potential but the pool area should be completely separate to the spa area for this to be a relaxing environment.
