"Good facility but got a bad room"
I struggled to sleep due to an intermittent plumbing noise but if that wasn't happening and I had thought to ask for non feather pillows, I'm sure I would have slept much better. It's a lovely place to be based from
"Couple weekend getaway "
A return trip to a lovely hotel & spa. Nice location and great for couples. Rooms spacious & well equipped. Very comfortable. Only grumble was the breakfast staff who were a little slow on the breakfast request & on stocking up empty containers at breakfast. Very good value for money. The spa is lovely. We didn't have a treatment this time but would definitely recommend booking one.
Wanted a place to relax for a few days enroute from Bristol to Edinburgh. It really met our needs. Wonderful therapy pools and an excellent restaurant. Room was pretty good but we had a whole big bunch of negative experiences caused by minor housekeeping foul-ups that were really annoying on a vacation trip. Danielle at the front desk understood the situation and made sure everything was fixed to be much more than just okay. Our thanks to her and to the front desk clerk who ran out after us when we were leaving to give us a tin of their delicious cookies. Do we recommend it and would we come back' Yes!
"Improved, but somehow not quite right"
Just returned home from a few days away and reflecting on our trip to Doubletree Chester. We have stayed several times before. Yes the restaurant area is, I guess better, but we had a long journey when we arrived and really needed a snack, perhaps a sandwich.....that proved to be impossible, what has happened to the menu, no sandwiches or wraps at all. We ordered cheese and onion with crusty bread for £6.50, well we sent this straight back and went out to eat. The smallest bread roll, a tiny piece of cheese and a bowl of onions, for £6.50 I don't think so, I did hear other guests complaining about the menu. Then a £15.00 charge to use the swimming pool' Extra charges for breakfast, £3 for pancakes.|No free newspapers...Ummmmm what's happening'.
"Two night break"
Hotel is in a great location straight off of the M53 and great distance from Chester centre and Cheshire Oaks. Noisy hotel room and couldn't use most tv functions. MPW restaurant shut wasn't told before arrival. Pillows were unbelievably too soft. Room was super dark meaning I removed all lamp shades to help my mrs do her make up and room lacked a view. Bar area and staff were great.
