Just finished our long awaited spa day, whilst the gym, pool area was great the relaxation areas were at time a little noisy from the refurb/extension When we told reception about it they were very pleased to listen to our feedback and remedied our day. We will be back but once the work is finished!
"Everything was perfect!"
Stayed on this hotel for the weekend and to enjoy the SPA facilities. Starting with the SPA, it was amazing! I arrived a bit late on a fully booked day and yet they managed to move the treatment i just missed to a later time so i wouldn't lose it. The SPA facilitie are great. Large and well mantained changing rooms, swimming pool and hot tub very spacious and a great selection of steam rooms. The treatments were perfect, great massages and the exfoliation is a must! :) The hotel staff are just amazing! We had a smooth and friendly check in made by Jenni, giving us all the information we needed. To note that the environment on the front desk was amazing, staff always smiling and with a high standard of grooming, they looked flawless! The room on the second floor was spacious and very confortable, and although we were next to the elevator, we couldn't hear any noise throughout the night. The restaurant on-site was excellent. From the starters (a cured meat board with mozzarella cheese) to the mains, everything was so tasty and delicious. The burger was excellent, cooked to perfection and it was so filling that we couldn't fit any dessert afterwards. Once again, the staff on the restaurant were excellent, extremely friendly and professional, and even on a very busy saturday night, the service was rather quick. One of them even took its time to look at the wine list with us and recommend us a very nice bottle. The breakfast in the morning was very good as well. Although not so many choices, everything was fresh and recently cooked, so everything tasted great and not bland. I am definitely going back to this hotel. Staff, hotel, food and service all up to a great standard without any flaw. The Hilton group should be proud to have this hotel, it definitely represents the best of this brand :) PS: Don't know if the cookie recipe is different here or has changed recently, but it is much better!
"Oh so disappointed!!!"
My husband and I have stayed here a couple of times and have really enjoyed it. Lovely hotel, nice rooms and excellent staff. We stayed here on the 8th of October, expecting it to be as great as always but were very disappointed! The website had said that the Brasserie was closed but as there's a Marco Pierre White restaurant on site, we thought nothing of it. When we arrived, we were discussing dining options with the receptionist and were told that the restaurant was closed that night for a private function (glad we asked!) but that they would remove the service charge for room service. That's not really what we wanted, we had had a tiring day and so wanted to rest at the hotel, enjoy a meal in a pleasant, low-key environment and not to have to fuss. Still, we accepted the inevitable and resolved to sort out a cab later and find somewhere in town. We were in our room and fancied some drinks. I couldn't get through to reception so contacted room service to ask if the bar was open and was told that it was. We got ready to go out and then went downstairs to get a drink. We were then told that the bar was also closed but that they could bring drinks to us in the reception area. Given that the reception area was incredibly busy due to the private event taking up the restaurant space and beyond and there was cigarette smoke wafting through the open doors, we declined. We asked the receptionist to book us a cab. She did so (taking our name) and so we sat in the reception area and waited. We then realised that we would have to wait outside for the cab (it would have been good to know that we would have to wait outside for an unspecified amount of time). Breakfast the next morning was in the restaurant, so no issues there but had we been told that there would be no restaurant facility and no bar available to us, we would have booked elsewhere. The reception staff were clearly working hard to deal with all guests but there was clearly no real organisation and the private event was simply too much of an impact on the rest of the hotel's guests. Really disappointed that we didn't get to have the restful and low key stay that we were looking for.
"2 night stay as got married down the road"
We stayed for 2 nights last weekend as it was more convenient for us to stay here as we got married at Chester Zoo on Saturday. Myself and the bridesmaids were in one room and the groom and the groomsmen in another room for the first niggt. Check in was quick and easy. The receptionist was lovely, really helpful and friendly and check in was quick and painless. The rooms were lovely, us girls were in the De Hoole suite the 1st night and that turned into our room for the wedding night following a service. Room was lovely, spacious, amazing bathroom and comfy bed but an absolute nightmare to get ready in on the wedding morning as the lighting was poor. The spa was beautiful, just gutted I couldn't spend too long in there for one reason or another. Dinner was served in the Marco Pierre White restaurant. The waiter was lovely and polite and the atmosphere was nice and chilled but the service was a little slow. Breakfast on the mornings was also nice but the staff weren't as friendly and accommodating I found. All in all I think I'd definitely return to this hotel. Especially to take full advantage of the spa facilities.
"Construction hinders atmosphere"
Booked a DB&B deal because we had a mud treatment booked in the spa. The treatment was OK, had better elsewhere, the spa/pool felt a bit claustrophobic as it was so busy. All guests have to dine in the MPW restaurant at the moment, which had run out of most of our TDH choices by the time we’d been able to get in there. The service and waiter was excellent. Breakfast was also in the MPW and was just OK. and not very relaxing due to the amount of people squeezed in . We also thought the aircon temperature was set much too low in the corridors and bar! Now that I’ve moaned non stop I would like to return when the construction work is finished, I’m sure it will be great then. All the staff were excellent.
