"Right on the warf"
Going there by boat gives the visit an extra charm ; )) I had the badluck of being allergic to their freshwashed linnen/or the airregulationsystem... not sure which of the two... nice place2go tho although better in summer ; x
"Fantastic River Views"
This is my second stay at this hotel and I think the location is perfect. The hotel is located a 10min ferry ride from central station and is in a industrial area on the Northern NDSM Wharf. Its a pretty cool and quirky area a quiet retreat away from all hustle and bustle of the centre of Amsterdam. The hotel rooms are not exactly huge, but have large full lenghth windows with fantastic view of the river. It was nice to relax in bed in the evening and watch the twinkling lights of the city. I will be sure to stay here again on my next visit to Amsterdam and I have promised myself next time to explore more the NDSM Wharf area around the hotel.
"5 Star Service !!!"
Excellent stay at the hotel. From the moment of arrival the receptionist made us feel so welcome smiling happy friendly and even gave us welcome cookies!!! He boat to central station is free travels every 30mins takes around 8 mins and is a lovely quirky part of the trip. We ate lunch and breakfast both were lovely. Could not fault this hotel the staff couldn't be any friendlier and location is good. Would definitely stay again next time!!!
"Lovely visit 7th oct to 10thoct."
Hotel is in a odd run down port, ferry 15 mins to amsterdam central. But it is not difficult to do. Staff friendly and helpful. My boyfriend got this on hilton staff rate and this helped make the stay even better. Only negative of this stay was breakfast. Yeah was free included with room but it was shocking. Ice cold and awful. We avoided breakfast rest of the stay. Staff seemed miserable also on the breakfast shift.
"Off the Beaten-path"
The good: - away from the hustle and bustle of the tourists and crowds in the Centrum area. - right next to the water-front, and good view if your room is on the side facing the pier. - breakfast has a good selection of food choices, including made to order omelets. - rooms are tastefully designed with Nespresso included. Wifi is inclusive and good speed. The Could-Be-Better: - last ferry from Centraal duration is 11:45pm. If you plan to stay out later, cab is only option and quite a long ride compared to the 15' ferry ride. - hotel is adjacent to the festival grounds for weekend concerts and events, which can get quite loud, but ends at 11pm. - rooms are small but similar to most hotels in Europe. - bars and grilles on windows feel a little locked in. - limited choices in restaurants nearby, but there are a few. - often confused with the Doubletree near Centraal station, even by locals. If you try to ask around Centraal station on which ferry takes you to this hotel, most likely you will get directions to the other Doubletree instead. - very limited choices of international channels on the room tv. - not much of a fitness center. - aside from the television broadcast facility across the street, the area is almost completely empty and dark after 9pm.
