"Great service, wish I'd stayed longer!"
Great service, wish I'd stayed longer. Reception was good, the room clean and warm and decent size for the location (centre of London). Check out staff were also very kind. Biscuits came in handy when the sweet tooth kicked in. Wished I'd paid for breakfast so I could also have reviewed that. For someone who has stayed in some of the best hotels in the world, it was a very good experience.
"The room makes me sad"
I booked this hotel through Agoda mainly because of the location and the Hilton name on it. Hilton name suppose to guarantee quality, but upon check in i was told my room is on the basement, i start to feel uneasy, who got room at the basement these days' The access to basement is using service lift but it was not working so we took stairs. Open the room and i found motel quality room. Its old and dusted let me describe It got window but tinted and only to allow little light through. You can see people walking pass above you. The furniture quality is like the one from 70's hotel, cheap wood and damaged here and there. Behind the bed i can see empty space cover with dust. There were no refrigerator... Yes no fridge. The bed was so soft its uncomfortable. Overall very dissapointing. Even worse i have booked 3 nights here paid in full. So we spent as little time as possible and so happy when we finally leave the hotel. With so many other options around, i would not recommend this hotel at all and i will be more careful in choosing next time. Very very sad stay.
"Quite poor beds and linens. poor check in service and service, i paid too much"
We were given room #327 at the HIlton Honors floor, because of unclean linens ( see photo ) there was a blond hair there too and I am a brunette. -->> we complained. It took some time to get someone to come and understand. We were told to wait till the morning because house cleaning was closed. Prior to this I had clearly stated in my booking that 2 separate beds, they said wait till the morning. Okay. I should have stated CLEAN THE ROOM FIRST. I don't understand why the performace quality was not up to the service of a 4 star Hilton named hotel or HIlton associated hotel . After insisting and explaining that the dip in the hotel beds signifies it is old ( please take note from Vincci Liberdade from Portugal who is equally 4 star but had amazing beds and clean sheets ) we were moved to 228 at midnight. Tiring esp the clock sprang forward. We were not given the same amenities (see photo) as the Hilton Honors floor at 327 because they said we were in a different floor #228. BUT I PAID FOR THAT HILTON HONORS FLOOR DID I NOT' at the #327 The main housekeeping manager didn't seem to comprehend the next morning. She asked if we were satisfied and everything was okay. I told her no, then she just stared at me. Don't ask a silly question if you are not expecting a truthful answer and do not force a guest to conform to your desires, I was packing to go to a conference so when she told me this is not a Hilton Honor floor you cannot have the same - I just told her it is okay but we are not happy. I am not happy with what I paid for. I had booked this hotel because I had to go to a week lecture conference and leave my mother in London. For once I thought to change it up and not go to Holiday Inn and give her HIlton associated. ( she told me after this not to get a doubletree because it isnt' really a Hilton quality) We were told at night that the people couldn't do anything because they were not the owners. I don't understand why they can't comprehend. DIRTY SHEETS. BAD BED. MOVE Please. Because I PAID FOR CLEAN SHEETS, A GOOD BED, A 4 STAR QUALITY HILTON ASSOCIATED or really HIlton HOTEL. and what I got was the bed and sheets at Quality Inn. That's false advertising whatever you say. Lucky I had planned to stay at a different HOLIDAY INN when I returned from my 5 day conference. My mom checked us out from this Hilton and I dont' know what else happened, and I don't need to know anymore. We were COMPENSATED with free breakfast. ARE YOU KIDDING ME' that's just a whole new insult. We didn't even bother to accept such false gallantry or customer service. We should have been compensated for the floor level quality and the inconvenience of moving rooms. NO 4 star here. 1 star based on my first impression, and not staying at a HIlton at all in future.
"Great location, service needs more precision."
Let's start with the most positive point : friendliness of staff. Check-in staff, concierge and breakfast team were really nice. They did their best to accommodate us and to answer our questions. Thank you to all. The rooms are average. Home automation in the room (remote control of lights, AC,...) still has some bugs. We got two rooms, one standard and one deluxe. The deluxe offers really more space (more than an average london room, but still smaller than an american one). The hotel is ideally situated if you want to do some shopping in Oxford Street. Central located for transports. Now, the two points which need some improvement; first, the breakfast buffet. Some choice, but eggs and bacon were really below expectations. Second day we order fresh omelettes which were ok. Second, the cleanliness of the room which was just ok. Low below other DoubleTree Hotels I've visited. The chosen carpet doesn't help. So, my summary : Great location, great staff, food and cleanliness ok.
This is first time I stayed at this hotel and was disappointed at the room size Otherwise, the location is good for to stay here for a couple of days. Food in the Indian restaurant was average. I wouldn't go there again if I stayed there next time.
