"Conveniently located hotel meeting Hilton standards"
This hotel is part of the Doubletree Brand owned by Hilton - one of two Hilton hotels in Melbourne. I really like this hotel and have stayed a number of times both for work and personal reasons, most recently a few weeks back. The rooms are relatively small (even compared to the Hilton on South Wharf) but they are fully equipped - for me the key things, fridge, decent shower, decent bed and aircon! One of my favourite features is the soft robes, they're a real treat. I've had a few room issues but these are quickly fixed (lamp globe gone and TV disconnected). I've only stayed in rooms at the back of the hotel (not on Flinders Street) so I don't know what the noise is like from the trams. If you are travelling alone, I would recommend room X11 which is in the back corner of the hotel, no street noise and away from the lifts. These rooms only have one bedside table - but they're great for one person. The hotel has it's own restaurant which does a pretty good breakfast - but I'd recommend not leaving it to the last 30 mins of the breakfast service like I did, they did cook some extra food, no questions, but i had to wait for it to cook.
"Excellent hotel in Melbourne"
the hotel was in a great location . Close to the Laneways, tram lines and the NGV where we spent some time. The staff were very helpful whenever we had a query. The room was clean and comfortable. We would stay there again.
"Another small Doubletree room with no view"
The whole of Melbourne was sold out the week I was there but I managed to get some accomidations. The loby area is nice and the staff is attentive. located in a great area of Melbourne, your a short walk from meusuems, dinning, drinking, and the train terminal. A trendy river walk is a short distance also, so the location is excellent. My room was smallish, but I know that they generaly have larger rooms when not over booked. Take note, if you want any sort of view, you need to pay the upgrade. I got a great view of the nextdoor office confrence room. nice to see people working wile I relax ;-)
"Good Location for sight seeing"
Excellent location for getting round the city which is why I chose it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were on the Hilton Honors Floor but the room was very small. Our rate included a free breakfast which was buffet style. Loved the fact that I could make my own juice. Plenty of choice and plenty to eat. We needed to check the weight of our luggage and the young man on reception could not have been more helpful sorting out scales for us. The young lady in the resturant at breakfast was also very kind and helpful.
Stayed here for 2 nights watching the Australian Open. What can I say, you can't beat the location. It takes 20 minutes walk to Tennis, so good. It's also close to so many nice restaurants along Degraves St, has a Woolworths and Coles around the corner. So convenient. Upon check-in, we were given some warm cookies, they're so yummy. There's also ice tea at reception, nice touch. We arrived early so the room wasn't ready, but got a text from them when the room is ready. The bags are already in the room when we got back. Overall, good service and good value hotel. Excellent location. Will definitely return.
