"We'll be back!"
Wonderful, friendly and helpful staff. Close proximity to shops, Federation Square, great restaurants and Rod Laver Arena. We had a great experience and we'll be back in 2018 - we've already booked our rooms at DoubleTree by Hilton!
"Great stay at Double Tree Hilton"
We would recommend this hotel for their cleanliness, hospitality and décor. This is a great central location in Melbourne for the Australian Open Tennis! We will definitely book again for the tennis or any other Business trip to Melbourne. We previously stayed at this location when it was another hotel, but Hilton's transformation of this boutique style Hotel is truly amazing. Thanks for a lovely stay!
"Fanastic location for the tennis"
Spent 3 nights at DoubleTree by Hilton for the Australian Open. Fantastic location. Approx 15-20 mins walk to Melbourne Park so no need to join the packed trams. Check in was faultless and we were able to check in earlier than expected. As others have commented, the cookies are delicious and available at any time for guests. Also iced tea was available which was very welcome. The room while smallish had all we needed for a busy Melbourne weekend. There was no traffic noise which was a surprising benefit given the location. Unfortunately we didn't experience the food and beverage offerings - only due to timing - but would do on another visit. Would definitely recommend for a weekend stay in Melbourne if you need to be in a central location.
"Well located, reasonably priced with some items requiring attention"
We arrived for a 6 night stay to attend the Australian Open and the hotel is well located for travelling there each day. We were disappointed by the very small size of our room. The resulting lack of space for hanging/storing clothes or suitcases was unacceptable. We raised this with reception and they kindly upgraded us to a much bigger room for the remaining 5 nights. That was much appreciated though the new room was not ready until 2 hours after the time promised meaning we were late for a theatre show. The free internet is a bit slow at 0.5 Mbps but gets the job done if just web browsing or checking email. The breakfast area gets congested at times being so close to the coffee machine where you often need to stand in a queue to use it. The juicer which had been reported as broken in another review was still out of action when we arrived but operative again several days later. The only cereals offered were the sugary variety and it would have been nice to have muesli available. If it was, it was well hidden. Can’t comment on dinner as we didn’t dine there though may have done so if a menu had been prominently displayed at the dining room entrance. On day of departure when there was traffic chaos due to a CBD incident, a hotel staff person assisted by escorting us down the street and hailing a taxi. That gesture probably saved us from missing our flight and is probably sufficient reason to give the hotel another chance.
"Small but perfect night's stay"
The view from our room had a limited Flinders Station view but we were only staying the night before family picked us up the next morning. We didn't mind the small room. The bathroom was perfect and clean with good water pressure. The lift/ elevator was quick and no bounce for those of you who have motion issues. Coffee, tea were courtesy as well as the comfy robes for after showers. It had a nice size bed that suited us well and we slept just fine. Close proximity to the Yarra River and promenade so do take advantage of the ability to ross the street and go to the underground cross to the promenade. It's a great view with plenty of shops and people watching
