"Horrible Check In Experience"
My wife and I are both Hilton Honors Gold Members. Both of us earned the gold status separately because of our individual work schedule. Therefore, we always try to stay in Hilton chain hotels because of the gold membership perks. We checked in to the Double Tree Kuala Lumpur hotel on the night of February 18 (Room 2327) We arrived at about 9:00 p.m. The check-in process was a little slower because there were many activities at the front desk but this is not the reason I write this review. As a frequent International traveller, I always carry valuable items, including highly sensitive materials, cash, and other valuables. When we found out the safe was missing from the room, we called the front desk immediately. We were promised this will be checked out immediately because the front desk obviously did not believe what we said. After 20-25 minutes of no show, we called again, and someone brought a safe and left it on the table. I mentioned to the delivery guy this safe is completely useless unless it is attached to the cabinet, otherwise, someone could just take the whole safe away. So, after another 20 minutes I called the front desk and mentioned about this issue, a maintenance guy came to install the screws for the cabinet. We were planning to go out for the night but because of this issue, we failed to leave the room. We decided to retire to sleep after 2 hours, give or take a few minutes. We were extremely dissatisfied because we feel we should be assigned a room with a safe. We should not have to go through this ordeal to solve this problem. We have been very satisfied with Double Tree in the past, we hope this is an isolated incident. Maybe this fiasco is due to our very satisfied 3 nights stay at the Double Tree Jakarta, where we used as a benchmark for comparison. Let's hope the next two nights are better. I am going to discuss this issue with the hotel management tomorrow morning.
"Here's a little secret the airlines would rather not share with you..."
Tucked away near Ampang Park in the heart of Golden Triangle, the Double Tree by Hilton arguably offers the best value hotel accommodations in Kuala Lumpur. Don't take my word for it. Instead, ask any in the seemingly endless stream of airline flight crews checking in and out of this hotel on a daily basis. Oh, but there is a catch. This place is hard to locate. The airlines provide dedicated shuttles for their crews but not for you. If there are more than one in your party, I suggest taking a cab from level 1 at the KLIA 1 terminal (not the Limousine service you will first see offered on the upper level). Alternatively, take the KLIA express to Sentral then transfer to the KL express (red line) towards Gombak. Exit at the Ampang Park stop. Follow the signs. But be forewarned, you will probably get lost. Those who persist, however, will be rewarded with the best hotel value Kuala .Lumpur has to offer.
"Good Staff but not upto the mark"
Stayed for 6 nights in the suite room. Elevators were going through an upgrade so it was a nightmare to get an elevator on time. Breakfast in the main restaurant is complete chaos. Internet is pathetic. No connection especially late evenings. Won't consider staying here again

"Great Hotel,But cost cutting & fewer amenities destroying the Hotel."
Long time customer (at least 10 years) But decided to move to Hilton after watching the New Ownership Group nickel & Dime it. Executive Lounge is not the same anymore,fewer Items offered there,Breakfast has Fewer Items also.Professional Cooks have been replaced by newcomers with little or no experience,There are kids cooking that cannot make an Omelette. Grumblings among the Few Old timers left there.The Old staff at the Executive Lounge,like Sheryl are still doing a wonderful Job there.The Room Location we did get is an exceptional one!
