We loved to stay at this hotel, mostly because of it`s location, only a minute walk from Victoria station and we even walked to the city centre a couple of times. Suprisingly quiet area and hotel!Comment of N. Marit Eikrem , Norway the 2014-11-18
"Average, good in parts, very expensive"
If you were paying £150 per night this would rate good, bit all of our group were paying £240 or so. Note breakfast was extra. £18 if I remember rightly. Booked here as it is a stones throw from the company we were meeting at. This hotel is a 2 minute walk from Victoria station & another few minutes to coach/bus & tube. Check in wasn't too bad, although there seemed to be some confusion as I had pre-booked in so all I needed was a key. The room was on one of the upper floors so well away from traffic. We were meeting up so spent little time in the room at first. When I returned the room was pretty hot so turned the a/c on & within a few minutes the a/c started rattling & banging. So I turned if off & suffered the heat. I suspect this is why I didn't sleep too well. Breakfast was the normal buffet fair with fried eggs to order. Good selection. Decent pot of tea, freshly made. Whether it is £18 worth is up for debate, the Weatherspoons in the station does an excellent cooked breakfast for less than half of that. Check out was fairly slick & my issues with the a/c were noted & U was given a free breakfast for this.
We have stayed in this hotel a few times now and I have always loved it. But this time I didn't enjoy it, we stayed in the 9 floors the room is literally next to the lift and the room was very spacious but the shower didn't have a good drainage as after shampooing I would have to turn off the water to let the water drain otherwise it's flooded, very disappointing, Otherwise I would have given it 5 star.
Various credit cards didn't work, my colleagues had the same issue, my room key didn't work, 4 times......there was no heating in the room...........finally they brought me an oil heater to the room.....never again. Cant wait to go home
"Lack of attention"
On the second day of a two night stay, having been charged more for an upgrade than specified prior to arrival, our tea & coffee making facilities were not replenished and our bath towels were removed leaving me standing in the shower with no means of drying. It took repeated visits to reception by my wife and over an hour for this to be rectified. Otherwise the hotel was fine with excellent breakfast provided
"Girls weekend in london"
Doubletree Hilton Victoria was a great hotel, location brilliant especially flying from gatwick. Hotel right beside train station. Apollo theatre across the road. Great little eateries around & walking distance to Buckingham palace. Also walking distance to Hyde park. Defiantly stay there again. 💕
