"Last minute, great deal, fantastic location!"
This hotel is a great location(on Lexington Ave) for so many places: Grand Central, St Patrick's Cathedral, Bryant Park, Rockefeller Center etc. We could walk to Times Square & the theater district too. Or take a cab. Everyone very friendly & accommodating. Excellent breakfast buffet. We got the bed & breakfast package for $10.00 more per night. Breakfast for 2... instead of $29.00 each. No coffee maker in the room. Request quiet room. Not on Lexington & higher floor. I would stay here again.
"Magical Christmas vacation"
Family holiday just before Christmas with my wife and 3 adult daughters. This is our second stay in New York at Christmas and the first since Brexit and the pound /dollar crash. I chose the hotel purely on affordability acknowledging that a stay in New York especially at Christmas is more to do with the sights and shopping than the quality of ones hotel. It’s fair to say my expectations on arrival were low thus I was not surprised to see a queue out of the main front door for check inn. Full credit though to the hotel staff as they did everything in their power to get people checked in and moving quickly. Americans are sometimes an odd bunch though, we had two interruptions during our check in by middle aged women complaining about the queue and moaning about being Honor quests and having to wait; guess what ladies so were we and you’ve just made your and our wait even longer! We had 2 rooms with 2 beds on a high floor, hotel was clean functional and offered tremendous value for money. Location is simply superb, most of the main Christmas attractions are within walking distance. Great location for restaurants, subway, shops. The main foyer was always busy and buzzing with festive activity. Liked the bar area, due to exchange rate drink prices were eye wateringly high but the alcohol measures were generous and the service pleasant. Staff were pretty helpful, we missed our shuttle bus back to the airport and the guys at concierge orangised a stretch limo to take us back to the airport, it was quite reasonably priced too. Driving through Times Square in a big white American stretch limo taking selfies was a great way to finish a magical holiday. There were some issues with credit card charges when we got home, I have no idea how the accounts are operated but at one point I had almost £10K of credit card provisions made against my credit cards, in the end the correct amounts were debited. I should say though, even if the pound / dollar rate went back to a more favorable level I would stay here again.
"Very good, very convenient"
Nice hotel conveniently located in mid-town. Easy check in/out, with warm and professional staff. Excellent value. Room was small but adequate and pillows/beds very comfortable. Housekeeping staff was friendly and very professional. Overall- very good stay and would return in the future.
"Experience at doubletree hotel"
I enjoyed my stay at the doubletree hotel, I like the hotel, it has a friendly atmosphere. The location is perfect, accessible to a big variety of restaurants, walking distance to main visiting site, subway at the corner.
