"Great location. Very good stay. Very good value."
Nothing to not recommend here. Convenient to all things Broadway. Friendly if frazzled, responsive and caring staff. Very quiet, comfortable, slightly worn rooms with actual windows that open. Bathroom very clean except stray hairs in/around tub. Strong shower. And a cookie. Very reasonable rates esp with AARP. Glad we stayed here and would recommend to friends/family.
"First time in New York"
We stayed at the DoubleTree Suites - Times Square for Easter weekend. Paid a hefty price for the room, but have to say we were pleased by the size of the suite especially when sharing with two teens. We were surprised not to have a city view room considering we got the Hilton member special and still paid a good penny per night. Anyhow, this location was very close to things, however we would probably not come back due to the busy-ness. We drove down from Canada and friends thought we should reconsider it. I now understand what they meant about the traffic. We arrived at a busy time due to an accident on highway that delayed us. We crawled around the blocks to find the hotel and once we were feet away from it, police officer would not allow us to make a left hand turn due to high pedestrian traffic. So around the block again, took about an hour to finally pull up in front of the hotel once we had entered from the tunnel. I was happy at that point to hand the keys over for valet parking. However, when we left upon departure, we waited 40 minutes for car to be brought around front. And this was only after I inquired with the front desk why was it taking so long to get my vehicle. Check in was busy but they were efficient. A little disappointed they didn't remind us of our two complimentary drinks that was a part of our reservation. I only just released that now as I look back upon my confirmation. Thank goodness we were Hilton members, as the family had access to the free wifi. Breakfast in the hotel was $30 a person. The McDonald's downstairs suited us just fine. My thinking when booking this, was go big, or don't go at all, but in hindsight I wish we had booked elsewhere at a lower rate. At least now we can check New York off the bucket list.

"Hotel with no hot water and no sincere apology"
I stayed at this hotel from 22 Apr 2017 to 25 Apr 2017. When I checked in, after a long 15 hour flight I found out that there was no hot water at the bathroom. The front desk said that the whole Times Square area was out of hot water and that they cannot do anything for us. (Few hours later, another staff at the the front said it was not the whole Times Square area but rather the building specific problem... Really'')The weather in April in NYC is still a cold one and I could not dare to take a shower in a freezing cold water so I decided to wait till the next day morning as the front desk said the hot water will be ready by 5AM. However, not a single drop of hot water was available till 10AM. Since I had an important business lunch on that day there was no choice but to shower in cold water which was a torturing experience! It was my first time to experience such pain at a so-called four star hotel with the brand Hilton on it. At the elevator, some of the guests were talking that they were offered a complimentary night which I was never offered at check out. The staff who took charge of my check out said that she has never heard of such offer. So maybe some phantom offered it to those guests at the elevator' Hope to hear what really happened on that day from the management.
First visit to New York with our 12 year old son. There are so many hotels labelled Times Square which aren't really in the middle of Times Square. This hotel is right in the middle of all the Times Square action. Look out your window to see all the lighted billboards and busy streets of New York. We loved this hotel for its location, service, and amenities. The service at the hotel was exceptional from the doorman, concierge, check in, and the restaurant. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We had a king suite with city view and it was amazing. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable, and with the windows closed it was quiet despite the amount of street noise. I most definitely would stay at this hotel again.
