"Elegance and Glitter"
Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights prior to our departure for the US. We were looking forward to stay at this hotel knowing that the hotel has renovated the rooms. The last time I was in this hotel was about 10 years ago. The lobby looks beautiful and grand. Check in was smooth and we were informed that we are in a newly renovated room. When we got to our room there was an extra bed which we did not request. But after a phone call, the extra bed was removed quickly. I thought the response was very impressive. Bathroom amenities were Lanvin, truly luxurious! I'm giving this hotel a rating of 4 instead of five because for one afternoon starting at 2 pm, we couldn't use the swimming pool since there was a private party. This is at the expense of all other guests at the hotel. Booooo! What a disappointment!
"Outstanding in all aspects."
We stayed at The Dusit Thani Manila from December 27-January 2, 2017. Since our original flight to Manila was cancelled due to the typhoon they had, we took a night flight from Bangkok and arrived at the hotel at 9:00 am. Our check in on the Executive Club floor was smooth and fast. Our room 1540 was at the end of the hall and afforded us some privacy and quietness. As residents of Bangkok, we are well aware of Dusit Thani service and the Dusit Thani Manila lives up to that expectation. As yearly visitors over the Christmas/New Year holiday this review will give you the most current information. The facilities are exceptional. There are renovations going on at the lower floors, so ask for higher floor for a newly renovated room. The lobby is huge and nicely furnished. Never a long wait for elevators. The grounds outside are well manicured and appealing. Staying on Club floor is of course the best option for service and amenities and this year, we feel was the best in all the years staying there. Our room had a large living room with couch, coffee table, hutch with refrigerator, wall mounted flat screen TV, large desk with ample electrical outlets. Second room had a king bed, and a huge bathroom with enclosed walk in shower, enclosed toilet and a double sink. This is great in not having to take turns using it. There was also a huge tub, which we did not use. Ample closet and storage space and safe. The towels were over sized. Bed linens were white refreshing and luxurious and many pillows. You could order different comfort pillows if you wanted. Plenty of bath amenities. The room was clean and the housekeeping did a wonderful job daily in cleaning and straightening the room. Staffing was great. We did not encounter anyone who did not recognize us whenever we passed, or who was not courteous, friendly and accommodating. Kit at the front door was sociable and courteous and funny, Joan in The Pantry always going out of her way to make you feel welcomed. Rose and all the staff in the Club Lounge just amazing. Housekeeping, security and door staff all wonderful. The Pantry Restaurant churned out amazing breakfasts and dinners. Great selections, too much variety to even begin to mention. The staff performs very well in a very busy environment, especially over the holidays. The Club Lounge is very inviting and relaxing with great views of the city. Happy hour was great with a delicious assortment of light food, sweets and snacks. The Dusit Thani is located in Ayala Center, next to SM Makati and adjacent to the Ayala station of the metro line. Easily walkable to Glorietta and Greenbelt. Security is tops, with taxi, luggage and individuals all checked prior to entering the hotel. Thanks to the labradors too. The New Years Eve black tie party in the club lounge was a total disaster. This facility can not accommodate 2 different functions, the club lounge for its guests, which are numerous over New Years and a sit down dinner party with only one hour separating them. It was chaos. I think management found that out and will not try that again. And what about the empty ballroom ' Overall, I would definitely recommend The Dusit Thani Manila for your stay in the Makati area. If you can do the Club floor, that would be tops, but you will not be dissatisfied staying elsewhere in the hotel, just above the lower floors. Congrats to all .
"Definitely not a 5-star"
It's kind of a joke that they say that they're a five-star hotel. They are nowhere close. The facility is average. Yet, it's still priced competitively with other hotels that are well above their league (i.e. Holiday Inn, New World.) They have one thing going for them, location- facing Glorietta Mall. I would also say that the rooms are clean.
"Good location, great stay, yummy food"
We stayed here for new years eve jan 2015. Our room is great however the bathroom leaks whenever we take a bath. The leak continuous and it enters our room floor and it is really disappointing so, we called the operator and they quickly attended our problem. Our room is clean and it has an amazing view of the city. The breakfast buffet was great! It has a wide variety of food from filipino to american to japanese. I enjoyed the ice cream and the vast variety of breads to choose from. However, we are disappointed that we didn't had the chance to see the pool since it was closed until 12nn. Overall it was a great experience.
