We stayed in a room with two double beds, with lots of room for 3 adults. The room and hotel were very clean. The breakfast had lots of choice for everyone with both hot and cold choices. Staff were very friendly. Just a short bus ride into Edinburgh centre with a bus stop just outside the hotel. Only problem was, no free wifi in our room! Come on Marriott its 2017!
We stayed during New year's eve. Our room wasn't one of the prettiest considering it to be Marriott again it was the busiest period of the year. Easy access from the airport and easy access to the town centre.
The hotel and staff were amazing. The rooms are modern and spotlessly clean. My room had a 50" tv and an enormous bed too! As value for money goes it is pretty hard to fault. The only slight let down was the food. Breakfast was "ok" but not much choice to eat for dinner and the sirloin steak I had was like rubber! Well worth staying here though 👌🏼
"Very good hotel"
On first appearance this hotel looks a little run down. However, once through the doors this all changes. The hotel has easy access to and from the airport and also the city centre. Check in was very quick and easy, room was very spacious and very clean. Went to restaurant for meal and the service was very impressive, food was absolutely amazing and cooked exactly how we asked for it. At the bar, staff couldn't be anymore helpful and always with a smile, service again was great. Check out was also very quick and easy. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Edinburgh and the staff are a credit to the management team.
"Executive lounge facility removed"
If you've stayed at the Marriott Edinburgh in the past as a gold or platinum elite member then don't expect the same facilities to be available to you now. Last week I stayed at the hotel and on check-in was advised to my disappointment that the executive lounge facility that used to be available had been removed. The opportunity of the use of an executive lounge once set the Marriott apart from other hotels of a similar standard in the area. Following my response to the hotel survey I was informed that they now provide a 'local enhancement’ for Gold and Platinum Elite guests by way of one drinks voucher for each night of a stay. I responded that in no way this replaces the opportunity of being able to have the use of the facilities of an executive lounge. I have also pointed out that regrettably, the removal of this facility does not in my view sufficiently reward or encourage continued loyalty to the Marriott Edinburgh and perhaps the Marriott management board ought to think again.
