"Stayed in better for the price"
Overall a good location for the city use the 100 airport link bus, every 10 min. but the rooms are pretty standard and ours was quite cold, would look for somewhere better on the next visit. Beds are not the comfortable. Breakfast was ok.
"Great staff but old and tired hotel."
All the staff at the hotel are really friendly and super helpful. The hotel is about 5 mins drive to the airport with taxi drivers usually charging about £8-£10. Inside the hotel is clean but really tired. One section of the hotel has been partially refurbished so rooms are decent there, but overall most rooms are dull and a tad dreary. Eating options around the area are limited too being so far away from the city with the only possible non-Marriott option being the restaurant in the casino across the street.
Stayed for a 2 night visit (Fri/Sat) and was pleased with the hotel! Staff on the desk were very helpful and friendly. Hotel was nice and clean. Pool and a gym looked decent (didn't use them but had a pop in) and the food was also great (breakfast especially!) Its about 20 mins from the city centre by bus, which is straight across the road from the hotel. £1.60 per adult into town which is a lot cheaper than a taxi! The only negative I can add is that I don't have a credit card, just a normal visa debit.....we came back late one night and fancied a drink in the bar.....because of the Visa/no credit card situation we couldn't put the drinks onto the room bill...and we also weren't allowed to use cash (because it was after midnight') we had to go to reception, pay a fixed amount using my card which they then refund you the difference within a couple of weeks'' Couldn't quite understand why it was so hard work to get a drink in the bar! lol Also no free wifi....its 2016 people! But apart from that it was great and would recommend the hotel to anybody :)
"Too nice but tooo cold"
We arrive at midnight as it was the time of arrival of our flight and the reason that we choose this hotel it was near to airport ,nice hotel ,but they try to sell / charge breakfast,even we have allready paid it .But arriving in the room ,big ,clean, but too cold (outside temperαture 0 degree) and they try to warm the place with an electric convertor'!'!!
"Very bad start"
We have stayed here many times over the years and have always been more than pleased with the staff and quality of our stays....... BUT this time was different, we did the mobile app check in which we have done quiet a few times in the past without any problem I always request a high floor room and of course I do understand that this is only a request which cannot always be given, when we checked in we were given a room on the first floor when I said I requested high floor room I was told abruptly by David who was on the front desk that was the room that was ready for our time of check in, we were there for the weekend with our friends and when she checked it she was given a room on the 3rd floor!!!! So we all now said wait a minute this doesn't make sense when I as a sliver elite member and my friend a std member how can she get the high floor room and not I, David did not handle the situation well at all he was very very rude to my friend he was abrupt and was not willing to be of any help at all, we decided to speak to another member of staff on the front desk for help her name was Yaiza she was a star friendly, helpful and within 5 minutes she had managed to change our room to the 3 rd floor, so made us wonder what on earth was David's problem I spoke with the duty manager and told him we were not happy with how we had been treated and it was a disgrace how he spoke to my friend, the attitude of the two staff were miles and miles apart I cannot praise Yaiza enough thank you once again for making our trip yet again a great one. Watch out if you are served by David on the front desk if you have a problem he will not want to be bothered with you!!! As I said we visited a few times a year over the last 10 years and never ever had a problem like we did at the weekend, he really let the Marriott name down, we will return but I do hope I am not served by this unfriendly,rude abrupt man again.
