"No cherries on top of this Pacha cake"
I have loved the Pacha brand for years - it's so vibrant, youthful and fun - so I've been wanting to stay at El Hotel ever since it opened. And what a disappointment. The hotel feels sad and drab. It's 10 years old now and it shows. Everything could do with a complete overhaul. I know I stayed out of season but if you can't deliver on a brand-promise throughout the year then don't stay open. The hotel looks amazing at night but close up in the day - it looks like any other off-white generic hotel. Inside is not much more exciting either. There is no Pacha 'wow' anywhere. The rooms are a great size and serenely-styled but the bathrooms could do with an update. The fixtures and fittings in the bathrooms are very dated and nothing special. The shower was adequate. Towels seemed a bit worn. The bed was comfortable and the wifi worked great. We had to chase for an A/C remote control as we hadn't been left one in the room. All the rooms have balconies but it doesn't really matter if you have a high- floor or not as all the balconies look directly onto the apartment block opposite. Maybe the super-high floors get a good view' Breakfast was the same as any other 4* hotel - nothing of any interest to report. A simple buffet. Make your own hot drinks. No interesting food options. Seemed like no real thought had been put into the ambience of the breakfast experience. I didn't find any of the staff particularly welcoming or friendly. They weren't rude - just not especially bothered that you were staying at the hotel. The location is good. Easy to park if you have a car. A nice walk to the Marina or Talamanca beach. And an fairly decent walk into Ibiza town. Obviously, it's opposite Pacha, which is fantastic if you plan to visit but note you can hear the music until 7am in the morning. Maybe it comes alive in summer and I'm just seeing it in a bad light, but as a big Pacha fan, I felt very let down by my El Hotel experience. I really wanted to come away from it feeling more in love with Pacha and not less. There's much better options in Ibiza Town - think carefully before booking. Reluctantly, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
"Perfect for Pacha, marina and walking into Old Town."
Good location for both marina and Old Town, great if you're going to Pacha. Because we went to Pacha for the closing parties we didn't have to worry about tickets, free for entry or added to VIP list without question. If not staying for Pacha be aware that people are in and out of the hotel throughout the night as Pacha closes at 6:30am and doors shutting can be heard and the boom of the club. Otherwise ideal hotel.
"3rd stay in 2 years... still love this hotel"
I love the large funky rooms with super comfortable beds and well equipped bathrooms, I love all the friendly and helpful reception staff, I love the location so close to the marina and a host of gorgeous restaurants and shops and, most importantly, I love the free access to probably the best club in the world.... Pacha. My happy place. This is now our 'go to' place every May and October for pre and post season parties. And Destino.... wow. What a beautiful place to spend hot sunny afternoons!!!
"Good for night clubbers in summer or families at the end of October"
Quite a walk into town. We had a nice stay at this hotel. Staff is very friendly. Was quiet as it was the end of season. Rooms are large and have a balcony. the hotel is relatively close to the marina.
"Great rooms but that's about it!"
Positives - Lovely, big rooms and the most comfortable bed ever. Included, priority access to Pacha nightclub which is a bonus. It was fantastic walking out of the club at 7am and being just 1 minute walk from our hotel room. The hotel is small and stylish but I'd say it's about ready for a revamp now. Negatives - Staff are too cool to smile and be friendly. They all look like they'd rather be somewhere else. Breakfast is continental which I know suits some but choice is limited. The only coffee they had was instant decaf or espresso from a coffee maker. A nice cappuccino or latte would have been lovely. The pool and area is basically unusable as it's almost always in the shade and it's tiny. The pre-club bar.. well.. Pacha should be embarrassed! No atmosphere at all and they were playing jazz. Jazz!!'' It's Ibiza for Christ's sake! We walked in and straight back out again. We only spent 1 night here before moving on to the old town and I was pleased we hadn't booked longer. I'd say this hotel is only really suitable for short stays as it's a long walk into the action of the town. It does represent reasonable value for money when you consider it includes club entrance.
