We stayed in corner 2 bedroom suite. Great hotel close to everything. Absolutely recommend this hotel and one of the best we stay during our west coast tour.Comment of E. David , Australia the 2016-04-25
Did not partake in meals so cannot comment on that aspect. Greatly appreciated good sound insulation and excellent blinds that blocked out light completely and allowed for a good night's sleep. Check out was 10am, which seemed a bit early. Staff would not negotiate on a late check out, which we have never experienced before.Comment of S. Mariko , United States the 2016-03-22
"Excellent Location, Good Rooms"
Enjoyable Stay, Except, we booked a Studio with a Sofa Bed, and our Kids booked a 2 bedroom suite as we were travelling together. We requested to be on the same floor, so we could help with the grandchildren, babysitting etc. We arrived together about 1-2 pm and rooms were not ready. We were travelling from Australia, and travelling with 3 little children. We were given out room on the 17th Floor, our family with children- could not get into their room until after4 pm and were given a room on the 30th floor ! When questioned- they were told the wait would be longer for any other room..... with 3 kids-travelled as far as we had...... This meant -we had to go down the lift the reception and up other lifts to the 30th floor....Hopeless situation. Very disappointing- And no free Wi Fi.......
"Great place, with a great location!"
Had a great time here! The staff was outstanding and the location is one of the best in Vegas! My room was off the chart as I am a lifetime Diamond member with Hilton. I loved not hearing a casino when I stepped off the elevator and if I wanted one it was a short walk away. The pool was the best value in Vegas as the cabanas were very reasonable. I will be back for sure! Don't miss out on this great value!!!!
"Rooms are poorly sound proofed"
On the surface level this is a pretty good hotel in the quality of building and rooms, however it has several serious failings and one critical problem. First the good. The hotels is in a great location, right around the corner from the strip and attached to a mall with plenty of shops and restaurants. It also doesn't have a casino onsite so you can get a little detox. I stayed in a studio apartment which was small for an apartment but good sized for a hotel room. The room was nice, clean and well appointed. Now for the problems. The biggest and unforgivable problem was that my room was poorly soundproof and my neighbours kept me up at night. It wasn't that they were partying hard - they were just talking normally and I could hear them and there TV (I was 8 hours out of sync so I was trying to sleep when they were up). However any hotel is a party town like Vegas that hope to cater for both business travellers and tourists NEED to have sound proofing done right and the Elara clearly didn't pay enough attention to this. The gym was adequate however I would expect better for a hotel of this size. There was no squat rack, barbell or heavy dumbells and the thread mill were old and seemed more like home models rather than commercial models. There was no recognition of my platinum status other than a couple of phone calls to try and get me to attend a sales presentation (I did not feel like this was a perk). Since there is no restaurant, there is no breakfast (there was in room dining). There is no executive lounge. The lobby bar had the atmosphere of an airline terminal.
Room was a disappointment. I was told I would have an incredible view of the Vegas Strip. What I given was an excellent view of a parking garage. The location of the resort is in right in the heart of the strip. Easy access to many sites. I would not recommend this location unless a guarantee on view was better than a parking garage.
The Elara is a modern hotel. Our room was a suite with an attached studio. It has a living area with a kitchen if you wish to relax with family and friends. The beds are comfortable and large. Huge whirl pool tube and separate shower big enough for two. The staff was very gracious and accommodating. The valet parking staff was the best. The Elara opens on lobby side into the Miracle Mile shopping area, it is part of Planet Hollywood. I would definetly stay there again.
