"Lovely hotel for golfers and non golfers alike."
Booked a late week at this hotel. Arrived to a warm welcome and a glass of fizz. Check-in was straight forward and we were shown round the hotels facilities. We had a beautiful suite (208) with a latte bathroom, a sitting area and large bedroom. Views all round of the golf course and a good sized balcony. Good choice at dinner though a bit repetitive after a week. Live music in bar each evening was excellent yet unobtrusive. Option to eat at Sheraton or Chiringuito La Isla. We ate at latter one lunchtime - nice for lunch but not worth the effort to go at night. Advised by other guests to give Sheraton a miss. Breakfast was good. Lunch was fairly good but short staffed to accommodate golfers. I played one round of golf - nice course but expensive at €100 for round plus clubs. With 61 rooms (full while we were there) it felt very spacious and not at all busy. Ample seating etc. for meals and drinks. Immaculately clean and tidy. Only criticisms - squeaky wooden floors in suites - perhaps a couple of mats would help. It would be nice if there was a themed restaurant (space at bottom end of restaurant for this) for variety. We did renta a car through the Avis automated system in reception which was excellent. Having driven round the whole Island we would rate this hotel as No.1.
"Maintaining high standards"
This was third visit after 5 year gap and we found the same high standards everywhere. If you want night life and buzz don't come here but if you want nice food perfectly served to a background of live piano playing then this is the place. Morning and evening food is served without pressure on space. With few rooms service remains excellent and personal. The golf course is good for holiday golf with large range and practice facilities.
Visited this hotel for 7 nights on full board basis. My first time at the Elba Palace and my husbands 8th time as he comes every year with his pal to play golf. This time he visited as a non-golfer and we both enjoyed the holiday. We stayed in room 223 overlooking the pool with side view of the driving range. Lovely spacious room. Good bathroom facilties with bath and separate shower. Daily nighttime turndown service and chocolates - very nice touch not forgetting our complimentary bottle of bubbly and truffles. Positives: best hotel I've ever visited. Opulent surroundings and attentive staff who really get to know you. Breakfast and lunch meals were beautiful with a fantastic selection to choose from. Evening meal was out of this world. Special thanks to Carmel who looked after us during our stay. She is a real credit to the hotel. All the staff were friendly. Great facilities in terms of gym, pool and golf. Constructive feedback: the breakfast/lunch room attracts a lot of flies and this was evident at breakfast when they would land on the beautiful display of fresh fruit, breads and cakes. A real shame but easily rectified with fly zapper machines which you often see in restaurants. If you're a "non-golfer" be prepared to be woken at 7am by the gardening staff preparing the greens and the golfers warming up on the driving range. This wasn't a concern for us as we enjoy the golf ambience, but if you're looking for peace then keep your patio door closed. The hotel is located in a residential area so be prepared for dogs barking and owners carrying out maintenance work - unfortunately for us we had a villa close by having work done which required the use of a numatic drill morning and afternoon so the concept of being on a golf resort which is renowned for peace and tranquility was superceded by drilling AM and PM. I accept that the hotel is unable to control what happens outside the hotel, however, I believe travellers looking to stay needed to know this to help them make an informed decision. To summarise: despite the noise from local residents I would strongly recommend this hotel. I will return next year. It would be nice if fly zappers could be fitted in the breakfast eatery for hygiene reasons.
"4 scottish golfers"
We have returned home from the Elba Palace having had a fantastic holiday, from the moment we walked into this lovely hotel we were greeted by the lovely Aneta with a welcome glass of champagne. We were treated so well by all the staff especially Janet Rocia also our wonderful barman who remembered our drinks every night didn't! get his name but we will get it when we return sometime next year.We played golf most days we thought the course was pretty good unfortunately we were there when they had the storm we had to come of the course on the Tuesday and it certainly wasn't playable on the Wednesday. We all thought the food was very good so no complaints at all.Thank you all at Elba Palace we hope to see in May next year.
Excellent hotel from start to finish, on arrival we were greeted by a lovely lady and were made to feel very welcome and relaxed. Our room wasn't quite ready but we were given a drink and very soon shown to our room which was just as we had hoped for. We spent 4 nights here, breakfast and evening meal excellent. The hotel appears quiet and is very relaxing although at night the restaurant is nicely full and has atmosphere. Courtesy bus down to the main resort which we liked. Thankyou to all the staff for a relaxing break. Highly reccomended, we will be back in the new year.
