"Amazing hotel, highly recommended!"
I absolutely LOVE this hotel. As soon as we arrived we were warmly welcomed and invited to a complementary drink in their open air patio while they checked us in. After a short while Ismael Arias came by with our keys. He showed us around the hotel and then brought us to our room, and consistently gave us phenomenal recommendations for places to go eat in Seville. He was super attentive throughout our entire stay. The hotel is really cool, gorgeous rooftop bar, rooftop pool, and a spa with sauna and jacuzzi that you have to reserve because you get it all to yourself during your reservation. It's also superbly located, across the street from the big cathedral, right at the center of town. I strongly recommend this hotel!
"Best location in town and we were treated like royalty!"
My elderly mother and I weren't sure what to expect as I know this is a trendy, cool hotel and that certainly doesn't describe us! But what we experienced was the most amazing hospitality, care and thoughtfulness throughout our stay. Many have already covered the hotel, location and amenities so I'm reviewing the service and treatment we received. Mom and I arrived around 8:30am from our flight. We were expecting to go out to search for breakfast because it was much too early for check-in, but one of the gentlemen at reception offered us a complimentary breakfast. We were delighted by this kind gesture! Knowing mom is elderly and we just arrived from the airpot, they checked to see if they could make a room available earlier. They found a room and Estera, a wonderful and kind woman from customer relations, escorted us to the room to make sure it was completely ready. She saw that there was a step between the bedroom and bathroom and felt concern for my mom having to deal with this, so she made arrangements for a room switch (also with cathedral view), but without a step down to the bathroom. While we chatted with Estera and waited for our room to be readied, my mom mentioned her favorite wine. When we returned to our room later in the day, mom's favorite wine was chilling in an ice bucket, courtesy of the hotel. My gosh! We were overwhelmed by the kindness and surprise. Prior to our visit, they also arranged for a wheelchair to be delivered to the hotel. It was a welcome sight when we arrived. Seville was a challenge to push the wheelchair over cobbles, but we managed. Any time I needed a cab, restaurant recommendations, or had questions, the front desk was helpful in every regard. I actually had concerns prior to our visit because I know this is such a trendy hotel with a gorgeous rooftop bar; I expected that the hotel would cater to the young and beautiful, but we still made reservations because it's exactly where we wanted to stay. I'm so glad we did because what we found is that they provided gracious, kind and helpful service. (Side note: we saw a celebrity model arrive at the hotel in a limousine.) We loved the fabulous and competent staff, the location, bathroom amenities, plentiful and beautiful breakfasts and convivial atmosphere around the hotel. We had a perfect stay and the entire staff, especially Estera, made it very special. Thank you EME, Estera and staff for treating us like royalty and making this travel experience so memorable!
"Definitely NOT a 5 star hotel. Overpriced and pretentious!"
We booked a short stay at this hotel last month and were hugely disappointed by it and would NOT recommend it to other travellers. It is advertised as a 5 star hotel but the only thing 5 star about it is the price per night. A rating of 4 star at best would be more realistic. Apart from its central location, which on first viewing seems ideal, the rooms are dark (which the mosquitoes will love during the summer months) and badly designed. They have an awkward layout as well as an impossible to master TV and lighting system. In fact many of the fixtures and fittings in our bedroom and bathroom were hanging off the walls and the hand held shower head in our bathroom fell off on the first use. Additionally, after 7pm the noise outside is deafening, due to all the bars and restaurants below and goes on until the small hours of the morning. You also have the pleasure of being woken up in the morning by the music being played down in the reception area. The breakfast food is disappointing and on our first morning there were no glasses left for the cold drinks. There is also a shortage of tables in the breakfast room and on one occasion a family of 4 had to wait for over five minutes before getting seated. The views of the cathedral from the rooftop terrace bar are great, although this area is also open to the general public and made finding a table a challenge. Also the drink prices are astronomical. The one saving grace was that almost all of the staff within the hotel were pleasant and helpful. My recommendation to other travellers would be, if you wish to stay in the beautiful old town of Seville, find a hotel which is not on one of the main roads but in one of the many pedestrian-only lanes which are not subjected to the noise of both party goers and traffic.
"Best location in town, could use an update. Not a true 5 star hotel. "
Absolutely the best location in Seville. You literally sleep at the foot of the cathedral. The view is absolutely spectacular. Not too noisy as the area is pedestrian. The room was nice; if you stay here, definitely ask for a cathedral view. As the hotel is large and it seems like several rooms overlook dark courtyards and alleys. Without the view, better go elsewhere. The rooftop is breathtaking. You want to spend hours here to relish the view. However it is in sever need of renovation. The plastic furniture is tired and uncomfortable. Surprisingly there is no space to lie down. The pool wad unkept during our stay, which made it unable to enjoy at the end of the season although the days were 30°+, the pool was cold and dingy. The spa has a nice, giant jaccuzzi which was great, but they disappointingly don't have a spa menu and don't offer massages which we found bizarre. Also the floor in the spa area is surprisingly and extremely dangerously slippery. Someone will definitely have an accident there if they don't replace it. We were very surprised by this. The food at both restaurants was great with many vegetarian choices. As was breakfast. Staff was very young and friendly. In a nutshell, if you get the view we had, then great. Otherwise go stay to the Alfonso nearby. We opted out because they were doing noisy renovation work during our dates.
We booked this hotel in January 2016 as a special weekend visit to Sevilla for 3 nights starting 11th of November 2016. On arrival the staff made us very welcome and we were offered a glass of Cava whilst we waited to be checked in, we were then shown to our room which was booked as a Junior suite with terrace and Jacuzzi the pictures on their web site looked stunning. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT, the room was dark as all the curtains were closed, some of which were torn and grubby, the bedroom was extremely small, this opened up onto the terrace which was covered in decking which was in such a bad state of repair my foot went through the surface by about 150mm. another area was coned off as it was missing totally. There were grubby white plastic sunbeds provided, the Jacuzzi was covered with a fitted plastic sheet and was cold. THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE ONE OF THE BEST ROOMS IN THE CITY!!!!!!!! Went to reception to explain our disappointment with the room where we were told they were full and could not move us to another room. I told them were would not accept the room and would leave, we were then asked for 250€ for one night as is their policy to charge for any cancellation with one night charge, I informed them the room I had booked was more expensive than the 250€ (over 840€ for 3 nights, with parking a total of 930€ with booking.com ), they told me they did have another junior suite but it was occupied. They had given my room to somebody else and was trying to fob us off with a cheaper alternative. I said I would stay if they discounted the room they were offering as we had travelled 2.5 hours to get to Sevilla, or we would leave and would not accept the room so would not pay the 250€, after contacting a manager by phone ( why was there no manager in the hotel at 16:30hrs) it was agreed that we could leave with no charge. This ruined what was to be a special weekend and I would not recommend this Hotel to anybody. Please be very wary when booking as their willingness to give a good customer satisfaction is ZERO.
