The Empire Hotel’s coveted location puts guests within convenient proximity to some of New York’s top attractions. For instance, Just across the street, guests can walk to overlook the renowned Lincoln Center which includes the Metropolitan Opera House, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and Alice Tully Hall, all host to top live performances and major global events in the world all year-round. In the opposite direction, guests will find Central Park and Columbus Circle less than a few short blocks away.
Really enjoyed the experience - bed was very comfortable, the pool/rooftop lounge was fabulous and location was perfect. Definitely plan a return trip. My only comment is that the bathroom on the M floor should be cleaned a bit more often throughout the day.Comment of R. Laila , United States the 2016-06-21

"Excellent Customer Service"
I stayed at the Empire Hotel NYC in April of 2017. Sharde' delivered excellent customer service. She went above and beyond to accommodate my needs. Good people really make the difference. Thank you, Sharde' Warm regards, SJP, Texas

Pictures look great but its actually a bit shabby. We had to be moved rooms twice due to loud plumbing but we did finally get a really nice room. 75% of the staff are nice the rest don't really listen to you and talk over you..... concierge was incredibly rude! Pool was closed which was disappointing as it was one of the main reasons i booked it. The bar was nice but incredible expensive even for NYC prices. Wasn't a bad stay but it wasn't great, NYC must have better options than this. Great location though
This was our first stay at the Empire. We needed a place to be close to our son who lives across the street. This was his recommendation for the Columbus Circle-Lincoln Center area. And we were well pleased with his suggestion and will return for future visits with him. Both taxi service and subway access were great.
Location for the Lincoln Center could not be better and the public areas are stylish and fun; but the room is incredibly noisy (from the machinery under the window- see pic). I don't mind the horrible view but I really hate the constant loud noise which continues throughout the night too. The bathroom door looks like someone tried to kick it in and they didn't repair it and the shower is a bit mouldy. I tried to ring down to reception last night when I arrived to ask if there was any chance of a quieter room but no one answered the phone and I was really exhausted after a transatlantic flight so I just gave in and accepted it. I certainly wouldn't book this place if I had a choice and I wouldn't dream of bringing someone if I wanted a romantic weekend in NY!!
"Wish this could be better"
location is fabulous if you are going to Lincoln Center. But it does not obviate the problems with electronics (electrical outlets don't work), room amenities (coffee machine does not work) and bell hops who have to be called upon by hotel guests to come and find taxis. Really, can this be true' Holy smokes, this hotel has gone down hill over the years. We have been coming here for years to be close to the Met opera. Forget it. We will find another place to stay.
