"Great location, beautiful interior design"
This hotel has a great location; you can walk here from Penn Station, which is very convenient for people coming in out of state. I was impressed by how beautiful the lobby and the room itself was. Although the space was not very large, it had a modern but cozy feel. The room service was great, staff was very polite and accommodating, and the bathroom was phenomenal! I loved the marble walls and the large bathtub. I definitely recommend staying here.
"Busy but still appealing"
Given the total lack of quality properties with easy access to the Javits Center the Eventi seemed the best bet and it was very pleasant and a far better price/value/quality option than several others I had tried previously (Archer, Americano, Refinery). The lobby area is quite busy, but it doesn't have the feel of a large city chain. They could not accommodate an early check in as they were full the prior night, but a later 6:00 pm check in was quick and smooth. The room is comfortable and not quite as filled with clashing pattern and color as some older Kimpton properties. Bed was good with reasonably good quality linens. Lighting everywhere but bath is pretty dim - probably cost (energy) saving, but definitely an issue for me. Bath was small but attractive with a nice walk in shower with 2 heads. Controls were oddly confusing and took some tome to figure out ... maybe it was early'' There was a bench in the shower satisfying one of my pet hotel peeves - nowhere to rest a leg when shaving for the ladies! There is no turn down service so request towels in advance if you will need fresh for the morning. Also, oddly, there was no bathmat - I assume just a housekeeping glitch. I hosted a dinner for 9 at L'Amico and although we weren't seated until about a half hour after our reservation, they did a nice job with the group once we got settled. Food was quite good and fairly reasonably priced. All in all the property was pleasant and I will return when I need to be in the area.
"Good hotel great midtown location"
The rooms in the Kimpton are fairly spacious and quiet with outstanding views from the upper floors. With three restaurants to choose from there is no need to leave if you want to stay in. Service was good and friendly especially in the Vine with decor of an old library. The location is great to explore the High Line and Chelsea. Easy commuting from Penn Station.
"I love Kimpton Hotels!"
We stay in Kimpton hotels whenever we can and are never let down. The hotels are always chic and funky with very helpful and attentive staff. The rooms are clean with nice decorative touches and thoughtful ones too (in the Eventi rooms there are outlets everywhere at furniture height--super convenient for all the stuff we charge these days). If you are a Karma loyalty program member you receive a credit for the mini-bar as well as free wi-fi. The more you stay, the more you gain special priviledges. Anyone staying can take advantage of the daily wine hour where staff pour a selection of wines and beers for any guest. It's very relaxing and a great way to transition from a day of activities back to the hotel and before a big night out. I've stayed in Kimpton Hotels in CA, WI, MA and NYC and am always happy with my experience.
"The VIP Treatment"
My fiancée and I had an amazing night at the Kimpton Hotel Eventi this past weekend, right after Thanksgiving. We planned to celebrate our anniversary and relax in the city, and it was the perfect place for it. We stayed in a Premiere One Bedroom Suite with a spa tub, and with our AAA discount, it was actually affordable on a teacher's salary! We're always looking for deals and special offers, and Kimpton makes it fun, with secret passwords, free Wine Hour, Raid the Minibar credits, and other perks for Karma Rewards members. We checked in after some grueling 95 South traffic from Connecticut, and missed the Wine Hour by 10minutes, but Celine at the front desk assured us we were "taken care of" -- and that's because she had already set up a lovely champagne and cupcakes welcome for our romantic evening in our suite, along with a wonderful personalized postcard for us! We felt like VIPs, and it was exactly the romantic evening we'd hoped for. We also ate dinner at Lupulo, the Portuguese/seafood restaurant in the hotel, and it was delicious! So fresh, so innovative, and again, not breaking the bank. Between the suite, the VIP treatment, the restaurant, and the ability to walk around Times Square and Midtown Manhattan on a Saturday night to return to our own quiet place, with an amazing view of the Empire State Building, and close walk Sunday morning to Chelsea Market, our stay had everything we wanted. Thanks again to Celine and the wonderful staff at the Eventi, we hope to return for many more anniversaries! :-)
