My wife and I stayed here in August for two nights as a mini get away for our aniversary. The hotel itself is located. Just off of Young St within walking distance to many attractions such as St Lawrence market the waterfront and world class sporting venues and the CN tower. Young St also has its own mix of shops ,malls and great restaurants. The room itself really had obstructed views of the city as building that are taller are adjacent. The room was clean and quiet with mild signs of wear and tear. Was nice to have a mini kitchen so if you were here for extended stays would perhaps come in handy. Hotel staff was cordial and friendly with a great door man who really seemed to enjoy his job. Was refreshing to be greated by someone with a smile on there face instead of the usual ho hum you might find at many similar hotels. Parking can be hit and miss as the hotel lot fills up quickly but there is decently priced underground parking within a few minutes walk.
"What a disappointment "
I was here a month ago and it was ok. The room was clean and the people at reception were nice and helpful. This time I'm pretty turned off. Those people weren't there anymore. This was a business trip and I brought my husband. It started with my late checkin. I contacted the hotel ahead of time, like I did a month before, and let them know that I was taking a late flight checking in after midnight. The reception was surprised that I was coming so late and asked if I was delayed. I had explained that I had called ahead to let them know and that I was there the month before at the same time and they looked at me like I was an alien. They proceeded to charge my credit card what I thought was the deposit but it was for my whole stay. I explained my company had paid for this already. After some arguing I said I'd cover it and speak with my admin. The next day I spoke with my admin and she gave the hotel a call. She spoke with a gentleman who said he'd get back to her. He never did. My admin in Toronto offered to come with me at lunchtime to checkout and pay the hotel with the corporate credit card. We went to the hotel at checkout time and they wouldn't accept the credit card. They required a form for the situation. My admin said it would have been useful if he let her know BEFORE checkout ... and perhaps if he bothered to call her back we would know and follow the new policy. Ok, so I get there are rules and policies changes. However, when you have a corporate customer that fills your rooms on a regular basis you do what you can to inform them of the changes as quickly as possible so they can comply. You don't not call back and act like a dirt bag when they come to your hotel to solve an issue. Super unprofessional! This manager was also a dirt bag to my husband when he asked for help. He came from the gym and forgot the room number. We came in late, we were jet lagged ... it happens. The other worker even commented that he saw my husband earlier with me in the lobby. This sorry excuse for a manager treated him like a criminal as he didn't have ID on him. He came from the gym; not outside. He was in his shorts for goodness sakes! The jerk said he'd phone me but in a few minutes and left my husband sitting in the lobby in his shorts. He waited for quite a while and this guy was just puttering around not giving my husband a second thought. My husband finally called me and asked what the number was. Dirt bag not only didn't phone me but took my husbands key from him. He got it back but seriously - that was unnecessary! He's a guest seen with me by the staff; not a potential felon. Oh and the jacuzzi. So the jacuzzi is located in the spa. We wanted to take a look and find out if it was for spa customers only or if we were allowed to go in because we were guests at the hotel. When we went to the spa the lady who was working there spoke very limited English. We asked and we were told a number of things but not whether we could use the jacuzzi. We asked several times and a she just kept talking about how we had street shoes on. Weird. Plus there were issues in the room. The thermostat was broken so we had no control over the temperature in the room and it was freezing! The remote control didn't work in the bedroom, we couldn't open or close the blinds for 1 window in the bedroom, and the glass door was not properly installed in the shower so it leaked all over the floor every time we took a shower. In conclusion I don't want to stay here again. I have already been booked for next month and I'm as we speak trying to change it. You can see by the number of reviews I've posted that I've stayed in/ reviewed numerous hotels. The room had issues, the treatment was 2nd class and I'm not impressed. If they keep this up no one will want to stay there. They'll have an empty hotel and an untouched jacuzzi.
"Great Service, Excellent Housekeeping"
The staff at the hotel are very nice and helpful, they just dont say no to anything, all our5 silly request were answered promptly, the location and mix of facilities are good, food at Wildfire was great, cant wait to go back :)
"Nice apartments in the financial district"
I stayed in a Tranquility Suite1 Bdr-Premium which was quite nice. The kitchen didn't have a ton of stuff in it, but I could call down to get more things to do cooking. The bed was comfortable enough, but not what I would consider super comfortable. The low points of my stay involved the sloppy housekeeping (rooms and corridors) and the annoyingly loud people down the hall who had a party going until the all hours. The staff were good, the hotel is very close to King TTC station, and the affiliated restaurant/bar was nice.
"Excellent Hotel and Location!"
Stayed here for three nights, the room comes with a kitchenette, which was great. Room was very spacious and clean - you can tell its dated but maintained well. Excellent location for walking to sightseeing, and easy access to transportation as well.
