"Superb hotel "
It ended up being the perfect fit for us. Not only were we received with an early check in and complementary breakfast but were also offered a night of drinks and tango show at "el tango rojo" one of the best in town. The hotel was always at our disposal for any questions or needs and had some great recommendations. One of the hotel highlights was definetely their signature style and decor. Very chic and contemporary. The room was a double and it was pretty spacious, well decorated and attended the needs of every family member. Finally we were offered a late check out as late as 4 pm. Definitely one of the best stays I've had in Buenos Aires.
"Below expectation "
I can't quite put my finger on why I was disappointed with Faena but first of all, the things I did like about it. The breakfast and breakfast service was very good especially the eggs Benedict which was delicious. The breakfast waiting staff were also very good. I liked the pool area and the pool service was also good. Faena has a really good gym with 2 smith machines which I have never seen in a hotel gym before. For a small area they have a lot of really useful equipment. I had dinner in the restaurant one night and the buratta was superb and the tenderloin was decent. Pool side, the nachos were excellent and the sandwich / baguette options were good but the Caesar salad is to be avoided. A dreary combination of a chicken breast cut in half surrounded by too much lettuce and a dressing that tasted like it was from a bottle. Zero for effort on the Caesar. All told, the overall vibe here was one of low energy. In the other hotels I stayed in on this trip, the front door/ front of house staff greeted me each time like I was the most important guest they had and this is something that was absent in my stay at Faena. The staff were more reactive than proactive in guest engagement. The bar staff and waiting staff were the exception to this. One comment on the Puerto Madero area is that there are a few restaurants, coffee shops and shops in the area but I found it to be quite a quiet area with not many people around.
"Business Trip in a hotel designed for pleasure"
I lived in Buenos Aires close to the Faena and I was fascinated by the hotel. Now, visiting Buenos Aires for business I took the opportunity to be a guest. Hotel design is impressive, swimming pool is fascinating. Team is very helpful and responsive. But it seems the hotel is not designed for a business traveler, not my room at least, I had to go down to the bar to be able to find a comfortable spot to work (desk in the room is too small and chair was not designed to a couple of hours of work). My room was small (probably due to the rate I books USD200/night) and restroom was a kind of maze (opening and closing doors to be able to move in it).
Located in one of the most secure areas of BA - Puerto Madero. Beautiful hotel - home to many celebs visiting Argentina. We were staying in corporate apartment across the street but went here for drinks and dinner several times Bar and pool also very cool. One dining room is mostly white and quite exquisite. Will try to stay there some time.
"Posh, Elegant, Trendy With Utmost Discretion"
The title says it all.....if you want a hotel that is posh, elegant and trendy that will provide you with the utmost discretion then this is the hotel for you! When you first walk through the doors...the main entrance is very discreet, you would never know it was it b/c it was an inconspicuous entrance. But as you step out, you are greeted with the most cordial and professional staff. What you think of a typical hotel, this place is definitely not! The hallway is like a runway with a red carpet filled with black mohair benches - very elegant!! When you check in, the area is where the elevators are to the room. You are greeted by not the front desk staff but Experience Managers who are there to help you throughout your stay. The staff is very professional and do not pry much except to welcome you and set you up with your room key to get you settled in. Once settled in...you walk into your room and it's decorated with very luxurious fabrics and the colors exudes elegance - red, black, white is what surrounds the room. The room as I mentioned has luxurious fabric....floor to ceiling red velvet curtains, glass in mirror bathroom, funky, high back white and gold leather chairs with some rooms with a red velvet loveseat. The coolest thing in the room is that the curtains are all electronically controlled as well as the lights - it was pretty cool to be in bed and press a button to open up the room with sunshine! And....at night when you are too tired to get out of bed to turn off all the light, you can easily press one button and turn off ALL the lights! The bathroom has a soaking tub separate from the toilet (every bathroom in BA has a bidet) with a room all alone with a rainfall shower head. Great room inside to do everything you need....the room in iteself has a short robe with slippers but has no iron or ironing board which I thought was a bit odd. You can request one. Other things to note when you stay here is that you have access to the 1st floor which is where the gym is along with a Rest and Relax room which allows you to use either a hot steam room or sauna room then go sit back to kick up your feet and relax. It was incredible. Another perk is that they offer free yoga every day as well. One area we did not venture to much was the pool given the weather but I will tell you, it's a place to be and to be seen....I feel like people go there literally to take pictures to say they are at the Faena and to be seen. It is a cool pool with a huge crown in the middle that acts like a water fountain at the same time...at night, the lights give off great ambiance. To get to the discreet part of my headline....the staff are very professional and keep to themselves unless you need their assistance. It was definitely a place if you really want some quiet time with no hassles, it will be the place to get away. You will find yourself pleasantly surprised when you arrive of the decor, staff and the hotel in itself....a big shout out to the staff, the guys who greet you when you arrive - Alejandro, Lucas, Lucas were so welcoming! Others who I could not forget was our superb Experience Manager, Juan, he was so helpful and made our stay unforgettable along with his colleagues, Maricruz and Delfina A THANK YOU to Ariel, the GM, who was pivotal to our stay being awesome!
