"Hipster heaven, and OK for oldsters too"
The youthful vibes from beautiful people hanging around bar, restaurants and small lobby area enhance the romantic mood set by very hip surroundings. The hotel does not rate 5/5 in my book only because the guest rooms are tiny with inconveniently cramped bathrooms. On the other hand, one should not be spending much time in the guest room as all of Buenos Aires beckons. The SPA is also extraordinary (especially steam and sauna facilities) and worth visiting. I was not surprised to learn that VIPs and Rock Stars choose Faena hotel. Be prepared for intense security at check in.
"Wonderful in every way..."
Loved the quirky and chic environment. The whole place is dedicated to detail. And random touches. The swimming pool has a crown. Not just any crown, but a gold one. Travelled with 7 people. 6 thought it was the best BA has to offer. The other one didn't think much of the eccentricity, but that was why the rest of us all loved it!
"$$$$ but worth it "
This hotel is awesome. Designed by Philippe Starck (the Delano, the Mondrian), this hotel is a fantastic treat of lush reds and antique browns. The service is top notch. The pool is fantastic (although I can't say I cared for the gigantic crown in the center of it but oh well). The seemingly impossibly long entrance way will certainly grab your attention. Breakfast at El Mercado was free with my leading hotel membership and incredibly yummy. The room is a perfect combination of old, new and bizarre with a great cook and equally as impressive breakfast buffet. My room was quite large (not sure if that's standard) and the shower was heavenly. The gym is substantial and I had one of the best massages of my life here. The nightlife is solid (I hear the weekends are busy as hell but I wasn't around to see). I've stayed in many incredible hotels around this globe and this one really impressed me. Located in puerto madero, I'm not sure that the location was ideal, but everything is a short Uber away and the neighborhood itself is safe and fun to bike around. Loved this place. I hope to come back soon.
"The place to stay in Puerto Madero"
We chose the Faena for two primary reasons, one being a personal recommendation from a very well-traveled friend and the second being their famed New Year's Eve party (which was really terrific). The Puerto Madero area of Buenos Aires is a funky mix of restored industrial port buildings and new mid- to high-rise structures housing some of the city's best restaurants and bars. The Faena Hotel is a quirky mix of elegance and gaudiness but the overall effect is a pleasant and inviting setting staffed by extremely friendly, helpful and attentive staff. The pool is beautiful, the spa is OK, the Library Lounge bar is terrific, and the restaurant, Mercado, is very good. And be sure to check out the Roja Tango show.
"Nice hotel but needs a big renovation"
Service is very slow. Room needs a total renovation as the style is very early 90's with velvet curtains and red couches. It can be a very good hotel if they fixed a couple things. People at the front desk were very friendly and helpful.
