"Solid choice in the city"
Stayed here on the last night before heading to airport. Good and central location where you can safely take the bus from the airport to the main bus terminal and walk to the hotel. Nice room, strong wifi, excellent breakfest and good staff.I would stay here again.
"Refurbished, very good"
When we stayed at the Faial the hotel has just been renovated. We had the chance to stay in one of the new refurbished rooms (7th floor). The room was spacious, very good bed, great shower, television ect., nothing to complain about. Breakfast was o.k., the staff was very friendly. The hotel is located in the city, from there easy to walk the historic sights, e.g. the "Mercado Publico" is in walking distance. At night the street is deserted but don't worry, Floripa is a very safe city.
Dark noisy room, unstable shower with almost only cold water. Very cold in the night, bad windows, and the heater was useless, because of the sound. Not a 4 stars hotel, maybe 3. Some of the persons in reception was nice, and made good service.
"Good for business trips"
This hotel is certainly not for people on vacations - it is in the heart of downtown Florianopolis, a pretty dead area during the night. However, being on a business trip myself, it hit the spot. Good value, decently clean room, and ok breakfast. Down sides: slow wifi (I understand it is free, but I had a hard time even opening gmail, I ended up using my own mobile internet), the room had kind of an old feel to it, they only serve snacks after 10pm (I arrived after 11pm, and could not get a meal, I ate a "burger", if I can call it that). All things considered, I would stay there again if on business, since the location is extremely convenient and the service makes sense for the price. If you are there for the beaches, there are other places to stay.
"Conveniently located, very courteous staff"
Service was absolutely great. Every single member of their staff was very polite and kind, including the maintenance personnel. I had problems with my reservation (caused by my travel agent); the front desk staff was extremely helpful and promptly solved everything, even though it wasn't their fault at all. My room was very comfortable. I had a little difficulty to find the power outlets, which were not visible at first, but they were there for sure (also on the bedside, which is very important for CPAP users). Would definitely stay there again.
