I had a great time at Fairmont. They have a friendly staff, excellent and quick service, and good food at suitable prices. A great place for family vacations near a lot of malls and near the airport. If you want to escape from traffic and jam its the best place in Cairo to stay at...
"Wonderful Week at the Fairmont Heliopolis"
The Fairmont is only 15 minutes from the Cairo Airport and they have a shuttle bus that runs every hour, so arrival and departure is very easy. The staff welcomes you to the hotel like an old friend even on the first visit. We had several meetings in the hotel and the staff took care of all arrangements on a moments notice. There are three resturants in the hotel and all provide excellent service and delicious food. The hotel is not new; however, everything in the hotel from the lobby to the bathrooms are modern, clean and very attractive. It was so nice to stay in a hotel where you only need to tell the consierge what is needed and it happens! Wonderful service, courteous and well trained staff who truely want to make make the guests comfortable by taking care of every detail 24 hours per day. Excellent value for money.
"Best hotel in Cairo"
Excellent service. However the pillows in the room have to be the most uncomfortable pillows I've had the misfortune of using. The restaurants in the hotel serve some amazing food. The Raj was definitely a favorite for me.
"Nice Hotel(s), but need some attention"
The is actually 2 hotels in one. there is the Heliopolis, the old part of the hotel and there is the Towers''', the new part. They have a common arrival but when you enter, there are 2 receptions. The AC did not cope, and it was only April. you can see dehumidifiers in the corridors, indicating that there are issues with the AC and humidity. The rooms in the old part hotel are small. Long walking to the elevators is you are unlock to have a small room number. The room was clean. However, although it was a non smoking room, smoke smell was felt. This could have been either from a previous guest or the smell is from other rooms / corridor. the guest room door does not seal and I could hear conversations from the room across late evening / night. The restaurants are a bit like a food court. The dinner in the Indian restaurant was great and freshly prepared. Overall the staff is friendly and efficient. However, on two occasions on 2 different days, the service staff at AQUA E LUCE was unfriendly and non communicative. We ordered first some cappuccino and when they arrived we ordered additional still water. This took some time. The lady was serving another guest on the other side of the restaurant and then stayed at the bar counter. We had to remind her after 5 minutes again about the water. Finally the water arrived and was placed on our table by her without even looking at us or any attempt to smile or basic curtesy. during our second time at the location, cleaning staff was happily mopping the floor around us and under our table while we are sitting here. Staff training should be a focus on the hotel. For WIFI, no continuous coverage throughout both hotels and public areas. Many times we had to reconnect our devices manually or move around to get proper signal.
