Monte Carlo was wet, the Fairmont was warm in its hospitality. The Spa and staff, concierge both inside and on the forecourt were the most helpful polite and friendly people you would ever wish to meet. Organizing everything we wanted so that not a moment was lost. if you like keeping fit then the spa at Fairmont is the place to go.
The Fairmont (formerly Loews) hotel in Monaco is set just by the Mediterranean, with lots of spectacular views out over the water. We had a two night stay here in November 2016 (room 5408), which had a sea view and a little balcony with lounger. This was a nice bonus as the weather happened to be lovely and sunny, and quite warm despite being almost December - the joys of a Mediterranean climate. The room itself was a good size, with a decent bed and a good shower, though the latter was in a bath rather than being a walk-in, and had an oddly high rim, so getting to the shower was a bit like vaulting a hurdle. The other minor niggle was that there was just one spare electrical socket in the room, which is not really enough in this day and age, where travellers want to recharge phones, tablets and cameras, etc. The hotel cafe was functional, and there was also a branch of Nobu. The breakfast room looks directly out over the sea, with balcony. The prices are not for the faint hearted. A Coca Cola by the pool was €9, a club sandwich €30. There is an attractive and large open air pool area next to the spa on the seventh floor of the hotel. Staff were friendly and professional. One tip. If you want to go to the main casino square then according to Google maps it looks as if you have to hike up the steep steps behind the hotel, which is good exercise but a bit of a climb. Instead you can take the hotel lift to the seventh floor and instead of heading to the pool, walk past the spa, where there is a discreet back entrance. This brings you out just under the casino square, so it is less than a five minute walk and a gentle incline to the casino square.
"Very Comfortable Night's Sleep"
Only an overnight stay so didn't get much chance to use the facilities although some of our party did use the rooftop pool briefly which they really liked, nice and warm with a great view. The bed was as comfortable as any I've any slept in and the rest of my party all said the same
"Nicest week end of the season"
Waterfront room, awesome sight. The room was very nice and big, the bed so comfortable I just did not want to wake up in the morning. The hotel itself looks like a big cruising boat from the insight. One of the best breakfast buffet and omelette ever!
I had the pleasure of staying for 8 nights at the Fairmont, what a delightful experience. Waking up each morning and looking out to the Med from my balcony, seeing the cruise boats come into port, the delightful service, the lovely room. It was all good.
