"Pop up restaurant at Monaco Yacht Show"
Initially disappointed that we weren't offered the full range of buffet choice when dishes had run out on the starters, but the dish combinations were inspired. After spying other diners choice of beef (which was on the lounge menu not the table menu) we enquired, and were rewarded with being served melt in the mouth beef in a rich jus. Gorgeous. The desert was also delightful.
"Location location location!!"
Before booking this hotel I did lots of research on tripadvisor to try and help me decide between this and Monte Carlo bay resort. Overall I am glad I decided to go with Fairmont as the location was fabulous. I emailed ahead to the hotel to inform that it was a special birthday treat and I had noticed that some rooms had been renovated some had not and if possible to request a recently renovated hotel room. The first room I was allocated was tired and had stains in the carpet and torn wallpaper not a renovated room.. despite being told it was and having to wait 30 mins plus at 3pm for it' I went to reception and was given an alternative room which still was very dated and stuck in the 80's although ok. We were given a complimentary drink for the delay of the room. The queen size bed was soooo comfy. The public areas were very nice, the views were amazing, breakfast was served in the nobu, excellent variety although not always as warm as it should be. All staff very helpful and friendly, concierge advised on restaraunts and directions. Cleaners excellent cleaned multiple times a day. Everyone smiled and said bonjour very welcoming. The exception was Nikki beach staff, ignorant didn't come and take drinks orders then look at you like you have two heads when approach bar to place order. Didn't come back for repeat order when approached bar for bill gave incorrect bill! Substandard and not an experience you should have in this calibur of hotel. Overall I would stay again, but hope for a renovated room.
"Not a great hotel at all"
So let's do positive first. Great location, right under the casino. The view out over the sea from my balcony was great. Now let's talk about the rest.... Room service penne bolognese was very average. Omelette I ordered for breakfast in my room, below average. Service at the hotel bar absolutely appalling. One night we were simply ignored. The next night we had to ask 4 times for a drinks order. Never stay in a room on the first floor with a sea view as it's under the lobby floor and you can hear everyone above you walk over the floor at breakfast in the morning. Ohhhh and to say it's a tad tired and in need of a refurbishment! It's just so 80's. I'm not sure, but I think they had staff staying in the room next to me, who got up every morning at 6.45am, talked very loudly, played music very loudly, took multiple phone calls, them left, leaving me, fully awake! Basically it's not great and not cheap, there must be better in Monaco.
"Great location but needs update "
Great location need update I been here 3 times before and always with sea view room When you are in great location like this you do not pay attention so much for the room This time I had court yard views and means just looking other rooms When booking this hotel it's must to have ocean view with all yachts Room is so old with rattan furniture Shower needs some updates Facilities are great gym is good They had now for few years also famous Nobu and is great
"Beautiful Ocean Views"
The views from the deluxe sea view rooms are unmatched. Expansive ocean views in every direction. Overall the spa, reception area staff, and in-room dining provided flawless service however, Nikki Beach was was quite poor. I'm not sure if it was due to the fact that the summer season has ended but the service was lacking. Many of the pool and restaurant staff congregated around the check-in counter and did not come to check and see how things were going. I had to walk up to the bar for a drink and then again to pay when I was ready to leave. Additionally the rooms felt a bit small and dated. The rooms lacked the "Monte Carlo" swag.
