"Great Nile Views"
Stayed here in April on business. A well laid out hotel with good views over the city. Rooms are large with all the usual items. Bathrooms are clean and modern. There is a roof top bar and pool which is a bonus.
"First rate hotel, comparable with any around the world"
Excellent room with a view of the Nile. Good restaurants. Fine breakfast buffet. Was warned to not drink water anyplace in Egypt. Accordingly, I did not, including in this hotel. A large bottle of water was supplied each morning. Great shower and tub. Plenty of hot water and pressure. I only mention this because sometimes in developing world hotels this can be an issue. The Egyptian pound is quite weak vs. the dollar, so prices for many things are very reasonable.
"A royal and wonderful oasis on the Nile"
The Egyptian people are the most welcoming and warm. Do not hesitate to visit this remarkable country. The Fairmont Nile city is an oasis in the perfect location to explore Egypt. My husband and I were celebrating our marriage with an Egyptian honeymoon. After a wild taxi ride to an appointment we left our bag with both iPad and kindle in the back seat of a taxi! I frantically called the wonderful Martha at the concierge desk. Within a short time Abdullah the taxi driver drove all the way across Cairo to return our bag. We gave him a reward and of course our gratitude. He said "it's not my nature to keep some thing that is not mine." There is no better Concierges than Martha and Marize. Special appreciation and be sure to ask for Ahmed Bahaa, duty manager; thank you to Mahmoud Shaaban for your thoughtfulness. The breakfast buffet in the Napa Grill is excellent and the service by Islam and Islam the best! Natalie in guest relations...thank you so much. From these many names you know your trip will be embraced by excellence of service.

"Fairmount Nile City"
Located downtown and on the Nile, the Fairmount if a high-rise luxury hotel. Rooms are lovely with large beds, TV, Coffee/tea, minibar and complementary bottled water. The elevators are slow and busy so a high floor (I was on 17) can be a problem. Breakfast buffet is included and wonderful. Try the homemade yogurt. Both hot and cold dishes are served. There was English language news on the TV including CNN. Room service worked great and was timely, hot and delicious. It was quiet on the 17th floor. No free Wifi however.
