"Room was terrible. Not centrally located"
The location was terrible for visiting Barcelona. The hotel has potential but the rooms were terrible. Bed uncomfortable. Sink didn't drain. Shower leaked. Definitely not aFairmont experience. 20 min from downtown.
From the moment you enter to the moment you leave this hotel is superb. From the concierge who secured Champions League tickets to the bar staff who deliver excellent G&Ts...the fitness centre is awesome and all staff attentive and friendly!
"Stunning hotel, fantastic service"
Stayed here in September of this year. Hotel has been recently renovated and I have to say it's amazing. Our room had yet to be redecorated so decor was a bit dated. But the room was spotlessly tidy, bathroom was lovely and plenty of space. I could not find a fault with the room. Lobby area is just stunning. Nicest hotel pool I have ever been to. And I have to say, the service from every member of staff was the best of any hotel I have ever stayed in. For customer service alone it deserves it's five star rating. Would stay again and definitely recommend. Not too far out from town, about a 3 minute walk to tram and about 20 minutes on the tram then. This suited us as was nice to have the peace at night. Tram runs until about 12 but a hailo cab was only about 12e.
"Sleepless in Barcelona"
We've stayed at 5 star hotels around the world. I think this is the first time I've left a negative review. But this was such a disappointing stay partially ruining what was supposed to be the grand finale of our vacation in Spain. We chose this hotel for the closeness to FC Barca stadium. Maybe it's the Westin in Valencia's fault for being so awesome (where we stayed before driving to Barcelona...) But I doubt it. Anyways here it goes with the complaints - the first of which we relayed to the management TWICE and all we received was a 25% discount on an otherwise mediocre and way too expensive meal at the hotel. I would have talked to a manager on our check out but we were running late for the airport. 1. Our first night the hotel had a DJ booked in the lobby for a birthday party blasting music until 12.30 am. There was even loud singing around midnight. It felt like our room was in the middle of a dance club. Base thumping and all. When my hubby complained around 11.30 pm they claimed it was the DJ and not really much they could do but they would TRY to ask him to turn it down. The DJ did but it was loud for a good while after. At least 30 mins. Now you could argue that this is so early and we should be ok with some music but at a 5 star hotel we should not be blasted with music like that at any time of day. And they knew we had two small kids with us so they should at least have warned us when confirming our booking. And at least they should have refunded our night when they realized the sound proofing was not good enough for such a party even up on the 10th floor. I fell asleep at 1 am and had to get up in the wee hours all grumpy and tired with our youngest making our day in Barcelona not too great. And lo and behold there was music also the day after not so loud but definitely so that I could recognize lyrics in our room on the 10th floor. Even at 1ish I suddenly woke up to a familiar tune. This is something I'd expect from a backpacker hostel not a hotel charging lots of money on the outskirts of Barcelona. 2. The concierge was not friendly. They helped but it didn't seem like they wanted to. 3. Shower stall was tiny 4. Our room was not made up. We found a call under our door but it seemed to have been put there while we were out for dinner so that's very odd. Maybe we missed it when our daughter was napping. 5. There was no soap holder making the soap stick to the sink and impossible to retrieve. Very minor but adding to the general vibe of weird/bad renovations. 6. Only one restaurant was open at the hotel when we were there and the food was mediocre at best with five plus star prices. It's a bit of a walk to other restaurants but you should just do it even if it's late. On a side note the bellhops were awesome! Great first impression. The room and view was nice. Great closeness to Camp Nou. Nice gardens.
"Nice hotel... cooperative staff"
Nice hotel with good ambience. Rooms are a bit small for double occupancy. The staff is very helpful and cooperative. You can have lot of restaurants and shopping malls within a distance of one mile. University of Barcelona campus is also nearby. Ease of connectivity by cab and by metro.
Credit cards accepted by the hotel: Visa - MasterCard
Check-in: 2:00 PM , Check-out: 12:00 PM
Please note the hotel will renovate the Lobby / Front Desk Area from 26th October 2015 to End February 2016.
