It's been a year since we stayed at the Fairmont Sanur Beach Bali and since then we've travelled quite a bit but this hotel remains the best. Exceptional service, impeccable cleanness of the suites, probably the most delicious breakfast out there - paradise on earth!
"Another beautiful stay !"
It has been two years since we stayed at the Fairmont Sanur, and this trip was every bit as wonderful as the first. Sanur is the 'quieter' corner of the Bali tourist region, but by no means sleepy. There is plenty of shopping and beachfront cafes, and the Fairmont is a great escape from the craziness when needed. We stayed in a deluxe ocean view room, which is the smaller of the offerings, but plenty big with a screened outdoor lounge area and a very big bathroom. The room is well appointed with satellite English language tv Bose stereo. Beyond the room and the hotel surroundings, the high points are the hotels own beachfront (calm beach protected by a roof), excellent food, and very large pool overlooking the beach. We had some trouble with flaky wifi (free) in our room, and it was addressed within hours and with a follow up call soon after to check all was ok. The people make the place though - just beautiful staff, wanting to make your stay the best it can be. To be greeted by name by day 3 is nice. Everyone smiles. On the 'stay again '' list ... pretty much on the top. For sure.
"Brilliant villas in a so-so hotel"
This was my seventh time to Bali (having previously stayed at a variety of hotels, incl Grand Nikko (now Hilton) and Westin on Nusa Dua and Intercontinental in Jimbaran Bay). We stayed in a three bedroom villa with our two young kids for over a week, and these are my thoughts: Pros: -Villa was the nicest rooms we have ever stayed in Bali. Very large space, beautifully appointed bedrooms and bathrooms with a useful kitchen. Pool is large (albeit a bit cold, and needed a bit of maintenance during our stay); -Staff our friendly. My wife got an ear infection during our stay, and they were quick to organise a Dr and a number of staff asked about her for days afterwards; -Main infinity pool has beautiful views of the ocean, with shallow ends on either side for the kids; -Unlike Nusa Dua, you have the benefit of plenty of cheap, clean local restaurants nearby to choose from, as well as the cheap 'Nest' day spa next door with great massages. Cons: -Whilst they were the nicest rooms we have stayed in in Bali, overall, the hotel was not as good as others in Nusa Dua we have stayed in. Only two restaurants (both open air, with no aircon); -Terrible waste of space with just a massive water feature taking up the entire middle section of the hotel. Also, the grasses area near the beach is arguably the nicest part of the hotel, but its criminally underused, with only cocktails served from 5-7pm each evening. This area should be turned into a full time feature of the hotel. -Buggy service to villas a bit hit and miss, sometimes taking up to 5-10 mins to arrive. Would be ok. except it was a 12 min hike to the pool from our villa. Suggest there is a buggy service operating from the Club room as well as main lobby. Also, suggest a buggy phone down near the pool to call a buggy to pool entrance; -Kid's club ok, but not very large, and would be better with more outside activities organised; -Common to Bali, but beach was not the cleanest. They seem to keep cleaner in Nusa Dua, and disappointing that the Fairmont cannot reserve the stretch of beach in front to remove all the local fishing boats parked there -makes swimming there uninviting. All in all, maybe consider going back to this hotel if we find a good deal (as the villas are truly magnificent), but will otherwise stick with the Nusa Dua hotels which offer a better overall package.
"Wonderful holiday at the friendly Fairmont Sanur Beach"
Our room was large and excellently set out with lots of complimentary products. It was also kept immaculately clean and tidy by friendly helpful staff. We had a lovely view from our balcony over the Fairmont's beautiful gardens.
Just spent two nights at the Fairmont. Approx 30 min from airport. Wonderful staff, lovely hotel/ grounds. Nice beach/ sand. Pool is fabulous. I would thoroughly recommend hotel for anyone and would return. Good for couples/ families and singes
